The Young Adult Workforce Program-Lackawanna County The YOUNG ADULT OPPORTUNITY AND EDUCATION PROGRAM was created under a law passed by Congress in 2014.

Assisting young adults (17 to 24 years old) who are not attending school with Paid Work Experiences, On-The-Job Training Opportunities, Direct Hires & GED Support. This law is called The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and is the first legislative reform of the public workforce system in 15 years. WIOA affirms the Department’s commitment to providing high quality services for youth

and young adults beginning with career exploration and guidance, continued support for educational attainment, opportunities for skills training in in-demand industries and occupations, and in turn find a good job along a career pathway or enrollment in post-secondary education.

A passionate advocate for youth development and mentorship, Devin founded TeenLine of NEPA to ensure no child is left behind and no voice goes unheard.

Denise brings unwavering dedication to our mission, going above and beyond to support youth and families while strengthening our community through leadership and service. Founder of I am somebody.
💙 Kellyann Kenny – Secretary
Kellyann plays a vital role in keeping our organization organized, supported, and moving forward with purpose. Co-Founder of YEP
💙 Michelle Plath – Team Member
Michelle is a compassionate team member committed to helping youth feel seen, supported, and empowered. Michelle Is an Assistant Director with an emergency crisis hotline.
💙 Holly Spece – Team Member
Holly brings heart and dedication to our work, helping create a safe and supportive space for the youth we serve. Founder of Susqueanna reserves.
