✨Aptly in time for our Season 15 of Faith:

The Scranton Shakespeare Festival is thrilled to announce a new summer partnership with the historic Church of the Good Shepherd Church in Green Ridge.

The "Shakes @ Shepherd Residency" will allow Shakes to host its upcoming summer musicals at Good Shepherd, providing nearly 500 seats for patrons to enjoy their often sold-out productions in the church's great hall. This partnership, made possible through the generosity of Good Shepherd's President and SSF Board of Trustees Vice President Warren Shotto and his family, will be an opportunity for Shakes to continue its dedication to transforming unconventional spaces into regional theatre performance venues.

Shakes will continue to produce their plays in The Shakes Space, their central hub, at the Marketplace at Steamtown, where they have transformed a storefront into an immersive and dynamic black box space.

The Shakes Space will be a dedicated intimate space for straight plays, including this season's Much Ado About Nothing and Henry V by William Shakespeare, as well as Saint Joan by George Bernard Shaw. Aptly with the season theme of "Faith," Shakes @ Shepherd will host their musicals, including Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Alice By Heart.

Shakes is excited to bring these musical productions to the Green Ridge community, and welcomes opportunities to collaborate with local businesses. Already, Shakes has taken the initiative to assist with beautification and restoration of the historic church, bringing together locals and student volunteers to prepare the space for the summer.

See you soon, Green Ridge!
