The Scranton Reads Committee is happy to release our full list of events happening all month long in February 2021. Click the "Events" tab and the "Book Discussions" tab on the Scranton Reads website to view all of the events. Our featured event is a live Zoom presentation and Q&A with the author of "Never Caught," Dr. Erica Armstrong Dunbar. Guests will have the chance to virtually meet the author and learn more about Dr. Dunbar's research and writing process for her book. Registration is free and required. Stay tuned because we will be sharing our full month-long list of events for Scranton Reads soon! This year, the Lackawanna County Children's Library will be joining us to read the youth version of Never Caught.

Need your free copy of the book? The Scranton Public Library locations will be distributing free copies of the book later this week! We will share more information very soon.

As part of Scranton Reads, the Lackawanna County Children's Library will be sharing the young readers version of the book, "Never Caught, The Story of Ona Judge." This is the biography of a courageous slave who dared runaway from George and Martha Washington. This part of our Novel Thoughts program which will be held on Wednesdays, February 10 and 17 via Zoom. Call the library for more information and register. Each child will recive a free copy of the book. 570-348-3000 x 3015.
