Below is a translated note from one of our unsponsored students, Naika Pierre. Naika is a beautiful 10-year-old girl with a sweet disposition. She is being raised by her grandmother along with her three siblings. She has one brother and two sisters. Her parents passed away many years ago. She loves eating corn and studying mathematics. She has dreams of becoming a police officer to help keep the peace. We thank God for Naiki and her story, His story, God's story of provision and redemption.

"Good afternoon, I am so happy to write you this short letter today. How are you doing? I am doing pretty good by God’s grace. I would like to take this time to thank you for all of your help and support of my school and my education. My grandmother does not make enough money to pay for my schooling. If it wasn’t for you, getting an education wouldn't be possible for me. I love my school and my teacher. I make sure to take good notes in class. Thank you so much for supporting my education. I pray God continues to bless and protect you!"

- Sincerely, Naiki Pierre

"One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." - Proverbs 11:24-25

Over the past two weeks, we have highlighted three of our amazing students. These students represent more than 200 students currently attending Caracolie Christian School. Each student has a similar story and has similar struggles. We are so thankful for each and every child God brings into our school, because He wants them there. He wants to raise them up, train them in His instruction for His glory in the future. He wants them equipped for His Kingdom. He wants them to grow up healthy and strong.

God’s children. God’s students. Today, will you be a part of His provision story? Our current financial need for the 2020-21 school year is $5,000. Your contributions, along with our current student sponsors, will be used to continue providing our school staff with salaries for our school teachers and school staff, will help to continue feeding our students lunch and be used to assist them in times of need!

If you are willing and able to be a part of God’s story of provision, please consider helping us raise the $5,000 needed to fund the education of our students taking place here in Jeremie, Haiti this very minute. Meet Dimitry.

Dimitry is currently in the 6th Grade. He has two younger brothers who also attend our school. He is being raised by a single mother who sells goods in town at the market. What she is able to make every month is not enough to provide for them. Dimitry’s father has never been in the picture or offered any support. She struggles every day to raise her 3 sons. After hurricane Matthew hit a few years ago and destroyed their home, Dimitry’s mother came to us for help. Like so many others, her and her children were now homeless with no possibility of rebuilding or even feeding her family.

With God's provision, we were able to rebuild their home like so many of our other students. Dimitry's mother is constantly stopping by the front office to encourage our staff and to thank us for everything the school is doing to help her children succeed in the future. Like Dimitry, his siblings are receiving a Christian education, nutrition through our school lunches, and support for their family in times of need and they are so incredibly grateful!

Tomorrow, on GivingTuesday, help us continue to provide a Christian education for the 200+ students like Dimitry! Your contributions, along with our current student sponsors, will provide sustainable salaries for our school teachers and school staff, will help to continue feeding our students lunch and be used to assist them in times of need!

Meet Fernandina.

She is literally a gift from God. Fernandina is currently in 3rd Grade. She has been attending our school for over 4 years now, along with her brother. When she came to us, most of the students made fun of her. She had a cyst growing on her face and because of not being accepted due to her appearance, her feeling of self-worth was low. She was incredibly shy. Her and her brother are being raised by a single mother who has been unable to find a decent waged job to support her family. They struggle like so many others, which of course meant she couldn’t afford school or medical care to remove Fernandina's cyst.

After she was enrolled into our school and we were aware of how children in the community treated her, we wanted to show her how much God loves her. We were able to send her to a hospital in Port-au-Prince where doctor’s removed her cyst. I will never forget how radiant and bright her smile was when she came back from the hospital – stitches and all she was so excited. Now her scar has faded, she is learning about God every day, learning how much He loves her and that He will always be right there beside her. She is growing in her studies, her faith and has a strong sense of self. She is also receiving the nutrition needed through school lunches. Every day she brings a little baggie to take half of her lunch home with her to eat later.

On Tuesday, December 1st (GivingTuesday), help us continue to provide a Christian education for the 200+ students like Fernandina! Your contributions, along with our current student sponsors, will provide sustainable salaries for our school teachers and school staff as well as help us to continue feeding our students lunch!

Meet Likenndy.

Likenndy is a beautiful 11-year-old boy who lives in a small mountain-side community not far from our school. He lives with his parents and 6 siblings. He has 3 brothers and 3 sisters. His parents have been unable to find steady employment. Our area is extremely rural, so it’s very difficult to find decent paying jobs. Last year, his mother took a job in Port-au-Prince cleaning houses for a few families. The children were really sad to not have their mom around, but their family had no choice.

When Likenndy first started coming to our school 4 years ago, he was a very shy and skinny boy - extremely malnourished with a walking disability. His hair was tinged orange and he was so skinny. He also had one leg that was longer than the other which made it very difficult and painful for him to walk to school. He was unable to run and play with friends. Every doctor we sent him to explained that one leg had simply grown faster than the other and with time his other leg would catch up. He kept coming to school even though walking was difficult. He was determined to get his education. We searched and searched and finally found a special pair of shoes that corrected his walking disability. Throughout the years, we have purchased many pairs of special shoes for Likenndy as his feet grew. This past year we didn't have to though, because his leg finally grew and caught up. Thank God! He is now able to walk normal with no handicap and plays soccer with his friends every chance he gets. Isn't that amazing!

In just two short weeks, on Tuesday, December 1st (GivingTuesday), help us continue to provide a Christian education for the 200+ students like Likenndy! Your contributions, along with our current student sponsors, will provide sustainable salaries for our teachers and school staff, will help to continue feeding our students lunch and will help our students with medical needs, like Likenndy!

As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, we have even more to be thankful and grateful for this year. I pray we have a new clarity and a new depth of thankfulness for this life we have been graciously given.

The past few months, I have been working with our students in Caracolie. One activity we did together was a color sheet where I asked them to write down a few things they were thankful for. They wrote they were thankful that God gave them life, thankful that God blessed them with a good life, thankful for food every day, thankful for water to drink, thankful for being able to live with both of their parents, and thankful for God blessing them with an education. The “good life” response got me every time. See, I live alongside these children, I know what their homes look like, I know what they eat or don’t eat almost every day, I know where they sleep at night and for the majority of them, it’s not in a bed, I know how hard their parents work to provide basic, BASIC provision for their families with less than $2/day wage, and I know how hard some parents search for consistent work and never find it. I see struggle, pain, injustice, poverty, homelessness, sickness, illiteracy and also God's provision, love, and redemption.

At the beginning of the school year, due to the Coronavirus, we lost several student sponsorships. Also, upon our return to Haiti in August, we came back to a 48% drop in the exchange rate, cutting our ministry budget in half. The additional funds needed each month to continue paying our staff and feeding our 200+ students has been a constant matter of prayer. This month we will be shining a light on what God is doing in the lives of some of our students through Caracolie Christian School. On , December 1st, you will have the opportunity to join us in continuing to provide a Christian education to the least of these!

Thank you for believing they are worth it and for seeing their God-given potential.

TWICE the Rice! TWICE as Nice! Make TWICE the impact with matching grant!

On Wednesday, we updated all of you on the current food crisis that our Haitian families are experiencing this very minute. So many of you responded immediately, stepping up, to help purchase food packs for families that will include a 25 pound of rice, 24 packages of spaghetti and a gallon of vegetable oil. Honestly, we were overwhelmed and humbled by your generosity during these difficult times.

Yesterday, we received a call that humbled us once again and reminded us how BIG our God is. A unique opportunity has been given to us. Something we have never been a part of before. Tomoka Christian Church, a supporter of Jeremie Christian Mission since the beginning, has generously gifted JCM with a matching grant!

Starting today, any contribution to help purchase food packs for families with be matched by Tomoka Christian Church up to $1,500! Talk about a double portion! Now any contribution of $30 sponsoring a family's food pack will be matched blessing another family in need!

If you are able and feel led, please consider supporting a family or families food pack this month. You can give by using the link below or by mailing in your contribution to JCM, PO Box 273, Scottsmoor, FL, 32775.

We are so thankful for you and Tomoka Christian Church's love and support. Have a blessed weekend!

Desperation. It's what so many families are experiencing in Haiti right now. Maybe you can relate? Political unrest, Coronavirus, double-digit inflation, slow supply chains, unemployment, skyrocketing food prices and a current drought killing farmer's crops and family's self-sustaining gardens have created a near perfect storm leaving some families wondering where their next meal might come from. That's Desperation.

In Matthew 25:35-40 God speaks on this very topic and He calls us to meet the needs of others. God has called us, and it is time to answer. We are praying to provide a 25 lb. bag of rice, case of spaghetti (24 packages) and gallon of vegetable oil to as many families in need as possible. The cost is $30 per family. Depending on the size of the family, this could provide one meal a day for 2-3 weeks. I know right now, times are tough, things are tight, but if you are able and feel led, please consider supporting a family or families this month. You can contribute by clicking the link below or by mailing in your contribution to Jeremie Christian Mission, PO Box 273, Scottsmoor, FL, 32775. Thank you in advance for your prayers, support and love. We are grateful for each of you and always will be.
