You can pray for an opportunity and still not be prepared when it arrives. If you are asking God for more, prepare for more.

Learn what you need to learn. Get organized. Practice. Save. Study. Heal. Develop the discipline. Make room. Preparation is not a lack of faith.

Sometimes preparation is evidence that you actually believe what you have been praying. Do not wait until the door opens to start getting ready for the room.

Some opportunities will put your name in lights. Others will have you serving where nobody knows your name at all, and both can be God.

Kingdom opportunity is not always elevation. Sometimes it is washing feet, showing up, or helping somebody who cannot do anything for you in return.

Some opportunities make your name known. Others make His name known. Know the difference, and do not overlook an assignment just because it does not come with applause.

Sometimes we are asking God for another sign when He is waiting on us to do something with what He already gave us.

You prayed. You got the idea. You received the instruction. You know what the next step is. At some point, prayer has to become movement.

This is not saying move without God. It is saying stop using “I’m praying about it” when God already answered you and you are just scared to start. What is already in your hand? Work it.

Somebody else getting an opportunity does not mean God forgot about you. Peter asked Jesus about John, and Jesus brought his attention right back to his own assignment: “What is that to thee? follow thou me.”

Their engagement is not your timeline. Their promotion, platform, house, business, ministry, or breakthrough is not the measuring stick for your life.

Celebrate people without turning their blessing into an accusation against God. Follow Him.

Everybody wants the big opportunity, but what are you doing with the small one? The small assignment, the small audience, the small beginning, or the responsibility nobody is clapping for.

Sometimes what we call waiting is actually training. We keep asking God for more while barely tending to what He already gave us.

Do not disrespect an opportunity because it showed up smaller than you imagined. Faithfulness does not start when it gets big. Be faithful here.

This one is a heart check. Do you really want the opportunity because God called you to it, or because you want to be seen doing it?

Would you still want to serve if nobody posted you? Would you still say yes if your name was never announced? Would you still obey if somebody else got the credit?

There is nothing wrong with being seen when God puts you in view, but we have to make sure we are not chasing visibility and calling it purpose. Ask God to purify the why before He increases the what.

Can we stop treating every closed door like something went wrong? In Acts 16, Paul was trying to go somewhere and the Holy Ghost would not allow it. Then God showed him where he actually needed to go.

Sometimes the closed door is the direction. Sometimes God is protecting you, redirecting you, or simply saying, “Not there.”

So before you start blaming yourself, questioning your calling, or trying to force the door back open, ask God if the closure was actually part of the answer.

Some things photograph well and produce terrible fruit. That is why we cannot keep choosing based only on how something looks.

The opportunity may look impressive. The person may know exactly what to say. The platform may be beautiful and the numbers may look good. But Jesus said we would know them by their fruit.

Look deeper. What is this producing in you and around you? Pretty packaging has never been proof of God’s approval.

We keep asking God for opportunities and then getting irritated when our schedule gets interrupted. But what if the interruption is the opportunity?

Jesus was on His way to Jairus’ house when the woman with the issue of blood touched Him. He had somewhere to be, but He still stopped. Some divine appointments will not be on your calendar. Sometimes it is the conversation you did not have time for, the person who called at the wrong time, or the change in plans you were complaining about.

Do not become so committed to your schedule that you miss who God put in your path.

Sometimes we are praying, “God, get me in the room,” and God is saying, “First, let Me teach you what to do when you get there.”

Access is not always the first thing we need. Sometimes we need wisdom for the people, the timing, what to say, what not to say, and even whether that room is ours in the first place.

Before you ask, “How do I get in?” ask, “God, what do You want me to understand?” Access without wisdom can put you somewhere you were never prepared to steward.
