June is National Reunification Month—a time to celebrate the families who have worked hard to reunite and the children who are finding stability, connection, and hope.

Reunification is often the goal of foster care, and when it can be achieved safely, it represents a powerful step forward for a child and their family. Throughout the journey, CASA volunteers help ensure that each child’s best interests remain at the center of every decision.

This month, we recognize the resilience of children, the dedication of families, and the many professionals, caregivers, and advocates who help make reunification possible.

4,000 children in Maricopa County are living in foster or group homes.*

Only about 500 have a CASA volunteer standing beside them.*

That means thousands of children are facing court hearings, school changes, uncertainty, and trauma without a consistent adult advocating just for them. A CASA volunteer can change the direction of a child’s life simply by showing up, listening, and standing in their corner when it matters most.

Be the difference between a child feeling forgotten … and feeling seen. Learn how to become a CASA volunteer today.

For many children in foster care, the start of a new school year can bring uncertainty.

A backpack filled with school supplies does more than carry books and pencils—it helps a child feel prepared, included, and ready to learn from day one.

Your donation can help provide backpacks, notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, and other essential supplies that set children up for success in the classroom.

Join our Back-to-School Drive and help ensure children in foster care have the tools they need to start the school year with confidence.

Together, we can pack more than supplies—we can pack encouragement, opportunity, and hope.

Phoebe Johnson runs Gigi’s Cottage, a group home for girls living in foster care. As someone who spent her own childhood in care, she advocates for residential care that feels like a home, not a placement, because connection and relationship are what heal the brain.

Episode 6, “More Than a Placement,” is live now.

Pride Month is a celebration of belonging, acceptance, and the power of being seen for who you are.

At Voices for CASA Children, we believe every child deserves support, stability, and someone firmly in their corner. When children know they are valued, heard, and accepted, they are better able to grow with confidence and hope.

This month, and every month, we celebrate the importance of creating communities where every child feels they belong.

Some children walk into court feeling invisible. Then their CASA volunteer shows up.

A familiar face. A steady presence. A reminder that someone cares enough to stand beside them through it all.

Thank you for showing up. Your presence changes everything.

Thank you to the cities and communities Proclaiming CASA Volunteer Week 2026 and helping shine a light on the life-changing impact of CASA Volunteers — everyday advocates who stand beside children when they need it most.

Awareness creates action.
Action creates hope.
And hope can change a child’s story.

Memorial Day reminds us to cherish the moments of connection, safety, and community made possible through the sacrifices of those who served. 🇺🇸❤️

Today, we pause to remember, reflect, and appreciate the simple moments that bring people together — laughter, support, and the feeling of belonging every child deserves.

Somatic and trauma specialist Dr. Scott Lyons joins host Micaela Tracy to translate the science of stored stress, what trauma actually feels like in a child’s body, into something every caring adult can understand. He explores why trauma is not about the event itself, but what it does to the body — and why safety can feel unfamiliar to children whose earliest relationships were unsafe.

Scott shares practical ways CASA volunteers can bring grounding, steadiness, and co-regulation into difficult moments, often before a single word is spoken.

His most powerful takeaway is also the simplest: play.

This is the third episode in Season 3’s journey to understanding every voice in the room.
