ALECA MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ⭐️
We’re proud to highlight one of our Trustees, Jeff Rumsley for his outstanding dedication to law enforcement and K9 training excellence.
He has served with the Tucson Police Department since 1994 and has been a K9 Handler since 2005. Over the years, he has become a respected leader in the K9 community, serving as a department K9 trainer since 2009 and currently working alongside his third dual-purpose K9. More than 2,500 deployments and has helped train handlers from agencies across the region.
We are grateful to have Jeff as part of ALECA and appreciate his leadership, experience and commitment to advancing K9 excellence and public safety. 🐾

ALECA MEMBER SPOTLIGHT ⭐️
Today for National Rescue Dog Day, we are switching up our usual member spotlight to recognize one incredible rescues-Scottsdale Police K9 Cache. 🐾
Cache is a single-purpose EOD K9 trained in 26 odors and has been serving the Scottsdale Police Department since 2022.
Before finding his calling, Cache was surrendered to Cache County, Utah due to his boundless energy and exuberance. He was later given to Pacific Coast K9 where his potential was recognized.
Today, Cache loves his job, his popcorn, ice cubes and his rockstar handler-his favorite part is bringing joy to everyone lucky enough to know him. He’s proof that sometimes dogs who need a second chance become the very best partners. 💙

Today, we honor the brave peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice to their communities.
We remember the heroes-both human and K9-whose courage and dedication will never be forgotten. 🐾Their legacy continues to inspire our mission everyday.

National Police Week is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. Yesterday, during the National Police K-9 memorial service in Washington D.C., Tucson Police K-9 Raven was remembered among the nations fallen police K-9 heroes.
We are forever grateful for their sacrifice and service.
Rest easy, Raven-your watch is never forgotten. 🐾

ALECA Member Spotlight ⭐️

We’re proud to highlight our Vice President, Ricardo Carlo.
He has served with the Glendale Police Department for the past 15 years, working in patrol and the Neighborhood response squad before joining the K-9 unit in 2016. He is currently partnered with his dual purpose K9 Veya, following the well earned retirement of his former partner K9 Duco.
Ricardo previously served as an ALECA trustee for three years before stepping into his current role as Vice President. He leads with integrity, humility and a deep commitment to those he serves alongside. He is a respected leader & his passion for mentoring others and strengthening the organization is evident in everything he does.
Thank you Ricardo, for your continued leadership and for the lasting impact you make on those around you and the future of this profession.
