Kava and Canela, just over a year old. Females. Owner having some devastating health issues and had to surrender. They need someone with rat experience as they are quite timid right now and may nip. Hopefully, the fur will be in better shape with some good nutrition that they’re getting.

Two very sweet male rats, handled daily with no history of aggression. They will be about a year old in July, and have been together since birth, so they would preferably need to stay together as they are bonded. Since I’ve had them, they have never spent any time with other rats, but with the right training and patience, I believe that they would thrive with others, as long as they aren’t overcrowded. Jack (the black and white) is more curious and playful, while Gus (grey) is more chill and would be more prone to be a snuggler. I would be able to provide two cages, one that I use for their “living” cage (approximately 39 x 22 x 18 inches) and one which is much larger that I use as their “play” cage (approximately 43 x 29 x 56 inches). The play cage has flat flooring and can’t hold bedding, so I feel it’s not suitable as an everyday cage. I also can provide many toys/equipment including a wheel, hammocks, shelters, play pen balls, tunnels, hanging bridges, water dispensers, food bowls, very large pop up play pen, and any food and bedding that I have leftover. I would be willing to provide all of this to the right home for $75 (cages alone value over $200). Phone: 928 592 3964. Email: [email protected]

We have lots of boys right now!

THE JOYS OF BOYS! ❤️

We often see more male surrenders than females, and a preference for adopting girls. We love them both, but did you know this about male rats?

— Boys more recommended for kids and first timers
— Males rarely get reoccurring mammary tumors that plague females
— Boys are generally more laid-back than girls
— Males enjoy being pet and chilling in your lap
— Boys tend to stick to a smaller area when free-ranging.
— Some people don’t choose boys because of their testicles. It is possible to neuter males, but should most often done if a “teenage hormonal upheaval” causes aggression. (Not too common, but can happen)
