May all the captives come home!

Pictures of the Captives on the Walls of the Old City
The stones of Jerusalem are truly special. They remember everything - the binding of Isaac, Jacob's ladder, the construction and destruction of Jerusalem, both during the First and Second Temples. The stones of Jerusalem remember the unwavering commitment of the people of Israel not to forget their capital and their Temple, to return to their homeland at every opportunity throughout 2,000 years of exile, and to rebuild it as the capital of Israel in modern times. Some say that the stones of Jerusalem and the Western Wall have human hearts. In Jerusalem, the stones tell the story of the people of Israel.
The current chapter of our story is not yet complete. We have been thrust into a war for our survival. Once again, our enemies seek to sever us from our homeland and our capital. Recently, in their wickedness, they even took some of our people as captives. It is not only we who grieve and pray for their return. Even the stones of Jerusalem grieve and hope for the return of our brothers and sisters from the claws of Hamas.
How symbolic it is that this week we witnessed the images of the captives on the stones of the Old City!
