🌱✨ T.H.R.I.V.E. The Garden Guardians are on the move! ✨🌱

Watch out, Home Depot ...the Garden Guardians of Mosaic Gardens in Scottsdale came through and we meant business! 🛒🌿 Our amazing residents laced up, grabbed their name tags, and headed out on a special shopping adventure to pick out fresh herbs ...and let us tell you, they did NOT disappoint!

Aisles of green, the smell of fresh basil and rosemary in the air, and a whole lot of expertise walking those floors. 🌿🌸 We have residents who have designed landscapes, grown gardens from seed, and could tell you the difference between flat-leaf and curly parsley without blinking an eye! Our program assistant Madison — who knows her horticulture like a pro — was right there alongside them, and honestly... the residents may have taught "her" a thing or two! 😄

It was a warm one out there ☀️ but that didn't slow the Garden Guardians down one bit. There was laughter, there were opinions about which herbs to choose, and there was pure "joy"moving through every aisle. 🥰

These outings are so much more than a trip to the store. They give our residents a sense of purpose, a chance to share their lifelong knowledge and passions, and a reminder that they are "expert" because they truly are. 💚 When someone who has spent decades nurturing a garden gets to hold a pot of fresh mint in their hands and say "oh yes, "this" is the one" ... that moment is everything.

The Garden Guardians wore their badges with pride today, and we couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them. 🏅🌻

🪨🎨 A Serene Afternoon of Rock Art at Mosaic Gardens 🎶💕

Today, we had a wonderful time, where our Montessori Memory Community came together to create beautiful rock art! 🪨 ✨

Why is rock art so beneficial for our residents?

1. Promotes Creativity: 🎨 Painting on rocks allows everyone to express their creativity. Whether it's a colorful design or a whimsical character like a genie, each rock tells a unique story!

2. Creates Lasting Memories: 💖 While they may not remember every detail, the joy of creating art together fosters feelings of happiness and connection that leave a lasting impact in their hearts.

3. Enhances Focus and Mindfulness: 🧘‍♀️ Engaging in art encourages mindfulness, helping residents focus on the present moment. This peaceful activity promotes relaxation and reduces stress.

4. Fosters Social Interaction: 🤝 Working together on this project encourages socializing and building connections among residents, leading to a sense of community and belonging. Our T.H.R.I.V.E. focuses on "doing with residents" instead of "doing for them " encouraging Independence connection and contribution

🌸 A Day of Tranquility at the⛩️ Japanese Friendship Garden 🌸

Today, our residents at Mosaic Gardens had the pleasure of exploring the beautiful ⛩️ Japanese Friendship Garden in downtown Phoenix. Surrounded by the calming sounds of flowing waterfalls, the gentle rustle of lanterns, and the serene presence of 🐠 koi ponds, everyone found a peaceful haven to connect with nature.

🌿 Highlights of Our Day:
- Strolling Through Nature: Our residents enjoyed a leisurely walk along the garden paths, taking in the lush landscapes and stunning views.
- Island Bridges: The charming little bridges offered perfect spots for capturing moments filled with joy and laughter.
- A Delightful Lunch: We ended our adventure with a lovely meal at McD's, sharing stories and smiles over delicious food.

💖 Everyone enjoyed this special outing, embracing the sunshine and the tranquil energy that surrounded us. Thank you to our staff and families for making days like this possible!

We know memory matters. That’s why Mosaic Gardens is proud to stand with the Alzheimer’s Association, whose mission to accelerate global research, drive early detection, and support families is more vital now than ever.
We are hosting an Alzheimer’s Walk Kick Off Party August 13th from 4p-5:30p in our lobby. Support the mission, support our seniors and come in to sign up for the Alzheimer’s walk happening Saturday, November 8th !!

Today, we’re proud to recognize one of our incredible caregiver’s, Philip, whose dedication, warmth, and compassion does not stop with our residents.
The magazine recognizing Phillip is called World Owerris People Congress. Owerri is the capital of Imo state in Nigeria.
In a world that moves fast, caregivers like Philip slow down to make sure no one is left behind. Philip is the founder of Hope4ouryouth.org , a nonprofit dedicating his time in helping the youth in self-development, training workshops, and empowerment in Arizona and Nigeria. Philip has partnered with the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce to continue his work in recognizing outstanding abilities and using his platform to give light on potential educational scholarships.
Philip’s work is quiet but powerful—and we are deeply grateful to have him as part of Mosaic Gardens, caring for our seniors.
