Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary Our mission at Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is to help save overlooked senior dogs in Arizona find their forever homes.

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary (FLPS) is the only senior-only animal rescues in Maricopa County, Arizona. Formed in 2012 as a non-profit 501[c][3] organization, the focus of FLPS is to save senior animals who are often overlooked by providing them the opportunity to thrive in a safe and caring environment. FLPS serves a public need by offering housing to a limited number of senior pets. This safe haven takes the burden of temporary care and housing of senior animals off of local shelters. Inevitably, local shelters resort to euthanizing these abandoned, senior animals at an alarming rate. According to a 2012 statistics report, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) euthanizes one animal every eight minutes it is open to the public. Euthanasia for senior residents is the primary option for most local shelters because they tend to focus their efforts on a high adoption model that includes younger “more adoptable” animals. FLPS works with local shelters and rescues to identify the senior animals in need and provide a streamlined process for interested men, women and families who wish to adopt.

Hi, I’m Tony! 👋🏼🐾

I’m 12 years young, 12 pounds, and basically a puppy trapped in a senior dog’s body. 😂

I’m a Schnauzer/Yorkie mix with a BIG personality and absolutely no plans to slow down anytime soon.

A few things you should know about me:

🎾 I LOVE toys, zooming around the house, and making sure you know just how excited I am when you get home.

🐶 I love humans AND dogs of all sizes. I’m a pretty social guy!

😂 My foster mom calls me a toothless little rascal.

🤍 I have Valley Fever, but my medication helps keep me feeling good and full of energy! Don’t scroll past me just because of this!

I’m also super smart, food-motivated, and not afraid to bark when I think you should be petting me more.

My ideal family? Someone who loves to laugh, doesn’t mind a little mischief, and appreciates a senior guy who still knows how to have FUN.

I may be missing my teeth, but I’ve got ALL the personality. 😉

Now, who’s ready to bring home 12 pounds of pure entertainment? 🏡🤍

Sometimes, $1,500 can change an entire life. ❤️ Thanks to a $1,500 grant from Lew Dog Gives, made possible by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, we’re able to continue giving senior dogs like Emilio the second chances they deserve. 🐾

For a senior dog, that funding can mean bloodwork, dental care, vaccinations, nutritious meals, and a safe place to land.

But most importantly? It means being able to say YES when a senior dog needs us.

YES, we’ll help you.
YES, we’ll care for you.
YES, your life still matters. ❤️

You never know whose forever family might be on your friends list. 🥹🤍

We know not everyone can adopt a senior dog. Maybe you already have pets, live too far away, or simply aren’t in a position to welcome another dog into your home.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t help change a life. 🐾

So many incredible senior dogs are overlooked simply because of their age. Sometimes, all it takes is ONE person seeing the right post to change everything.

Take Auto, for example. In this video. This sweet 12-year-old boy has so much love to give. He loves snuggles, snacks, and being around his favorite people. All he’s missing is a family to call his own. 🥺

Maybe Auto isn’t your dog. But he could be someone else’s entire world.

One thing about Hazel… if the belly is up, the hands BETTER be rubbing. 😂🤍

Meet Hazel, our 12-year-young Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who takes her belly rubs VERY seriously. Just look at those little paws! 🥹

Hazel recently came to us as an owner surrender. Now, this sweet girl is getting a fresh start. 🤍

Hazel has lived with other dogs and done well. But what she’d REALLY love is a quiet forever home where she can relax, feel safe, and receive all the cuddles her little heart desires.

She’s adorable, and she has some very reasonable demands… unlimited belly rubs, please. 😂🐾

1,000 senior dogs saved. 1,000 second chances. And this little guy is the reason we’re celebrating today. 🥹🤍🐾

Meet Buddy, the 1,000th senior dog rescued by Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary, in Arizona!!!🎉

At 10 years old, Buddy’s life has taken an unexpected turn. After experiencing some major life changes, his previous owner had to make the incredibly difficult decision to surrender him.

Sometimes loving a dog means recognizing when you can no longer give them the care and stability they deserve. We’re grateful Buddy’s owner made sure he would have a safe place to land. 🤍

Buddy is a sweet 10-year-old Havanese mix who has experience living with dogs, cats, and even a young toddler who was his little playmate!

And while Buddy may not understand just how special his arrival is to us, he represents something so much bigger.

Resilience. New beginnings. Second chances.

Over the years, we’ve welcomed seniors who were abandoned, neglected, surrendered, or simply had nowhere else to go. We’ve watched them heal, learn to trust again, and find families who love them beyond measure.

And now, 1,000 senior dogs have been given another chance because of this rescue and the incredible community behind it. 🥹

Meet Papi, a sweet little gentleman with a big heart and excellent manners. At 11 years young and 20 lbs, this Rat Terrier mix is the definition of easy living.

Papi loves people just the right amount❤️ happy to hang out, happy to snooze nearby, and especially happy to cuddle when it’s bedtime. He’s a champion sleeper who will gladly match your sleep-in schedule.

Papi is generally a laid-back guy, but don’t let that fool you! walks and car rides are his JAM. He gets adorably excited when it’s time to head out, then settles into a nice, relaxed stroll.

At home, he’s a total potty-training rockstar, & uses the doggie door like a pro. He’s lived peacefully with other dogs and mostly ignores them on walks, though cats are a no-thank-you for Papi. Toys are still a mystery to him, but he’s curious about crinkly ones and might discover his playful side with a little encouragement.

Papi would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can enjoy daily walks, cozy cuddles, and all the love he so clearly deserves. Looking for a mellow best friend with a sweet soul and a cute little strut? Papi’s ready to meet you.

Imagine being found blind and wandering alone through a hot, dusty town near the Mexico/U.S. border, with an enormous mass protruding from your forehead..

Yeah. That’s how Stacy’s story started. But then, “Miracle Number 1” occurred when a kind police officer found her and drove her to our shelter partner in southwestern Arizona. They reached out to us to see if we had the resources to help her. We took her into our rescue. Our amazing veterinarian agreed to give it a shot and was able to remove the mass in its entirety! Then came “Miracle Number 2”: the huge mass was totally BENIGN!

Her final miracle is awaiting. She’s happy and healthy now, and just needs a forever home!❤️

Stacy has emerged as a beautiful social butterfly, loving all humans and other dogs, showing a playful side, and proudly showing off her A+ potty skills. Snuggling with you might be her favorite activity though!

Additionally, this confident pup has adapted amazingly well to blindness and actually fools us into thinking she can see much better than she does!😂🥹

Stories like Stacy’s are at the very heart of rescue. A little dog who endured such suffering but miraculously defied the odds is now looking forward to the loving family we know is waiting for her.

Maybe the dream was never about having more things. Maybe it was about having a home filled with furry lives we got to change. 🥹🤍

A soft bed for the dog who never had one. A safe place for the one who lost theirs. A family for the senior dog who spent too long wondering if anyone would ever choose them again.

Because there’s something incredibly special about looking at an older dog and saying, “You don’t have to keep waiting. You’re home.”

So yeah… a house full of adopted senior dogs sounds like a pretty beautiful life to us. 🐾💕
