What does this group having dinner last night at Little India in Nelson have in common? They're all Whakatu Rotarians and they've all visited India with Rotary.
Anna and Phil Gully went to India a few years ago as part of the IFCR (International Fellowship of Cricket Loving Rotarians). Karen Stade, Kristine Marriott (along with the absent Belinda Wheatley) met Andrea (right) in January this year in Agra, India, as part of the Keep India Polio Free vaccination programme. Andrea is a member of a Rotary club in Arizona USA and came to New Zealand to visit Kristine, Karen and Belinda after a year of travel and participation in various Rotary projects around the world. Great to have you in New Zealand Andrea! The Whakatu Rotary Club will meet Andrea at next week's club meeting.

Thursday, February 9, 2017 - We had a very interesting Rotary Club meeting today. It quickly became obvious that we are a cohesive, fiercely independent group, that nobody pulls our strings, that we have no tolerance for internal Rotary politics, and that we are totally committed to serving those in need. Good meeting.

September 29, 2016 - During her official visit to the Tempe Rio Salado Rotary Club, District Governor Tonya Watson was surprised to receive a video "Hello" from two of the club's members Shree Krishna Dhital and Angella Pyakurel who are in Nepal. They are community leaders involved in vocational training for women, water retention ponds, earthquake recover, and numerous other projects. Shree is working on a Master's Degree in Engineering from Kathmandu University.
