Join Trout Unlimited , Tonto National Forest, and Wren House Brewing for a volunteer day of planting native trees along Dude Creek! Dude Creek is a Gila Trout recovery stream where Trout Unlimited has been completing physical restoration projects, including tree planting. This will help us continue our kick off of the collaborative Gila Trout b**r!

We will meet at the Walmart Super Center as a group and caravan down to the creek as a unit, to our staging area. Tools and materials will be provided, but please bring gloves, hats, water, and layered clothing.

Happy National Public Lands Day & National Hunting and Fishing Day!

Public lands in Arizona are vital for recreation as they provide over 30 million acres of open space for activities like fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping.

As we cherish and celebrate Arizona’s public lands and our ability to hunt and fish on them today, let us come together to protect these areas.

Arizona has approximately 1.17 to 1.2 million acres of public national forest land designated within Roadless Areas. These areas are under threat, and you can make your voice heard. Please take the time to submit a public comment. Find the link in our bio.

We are very excited to announce the 2nd edition of our collaboration with Wren House Brewing Company Gila Trout Style!

Come join us at the Wren House Phoenix Taproom (2125 North 24th Street on October 10th anytime from 11am-5pm to help us celebrate the release and raise funds for this native trout species!

We will have lots of awesome raffle items (including another chance to snag a custom Wicked Fly Rod & Reel Co. )

Thank you to all of the teachers who attended this years Trout in the Classroom Teacher Training! We have 47 schools participating this year on campuses ranging from Flagstaff to Yuma, Buckeye to St John’s. Thousands of students will get hands on learning while raising 100 trout of their own! This is an awesome program run alongside our partner Arizona Game & Fish Department who supplies our trout eggs each year. Three brand new bottomless culverts have been installed on Paradise Creek. Completing this project has reconnected 9.3 miles of Apache Trout stream habitat. These culverts have also created new pool and riffle habitat that will allow any age class of Apache Trout to pass through at any time of the year. Thank you to our partners and contractors who worked on this project with us from start to finish, White Mountain Apache Tribe & US Fish and Wildlife. Always an honor to protect and restore Arizona’s cold-water fisheries and watersheds.
