A person posted these photos of a Scottsdale Estates brochure on the You know you grew up in Scottsdale when page. Had to share them here! Presumably the same plans were also available at West Plaza. So glad people still have these brochures... they're so hard to come by!

1963 newspaper advertisement featuring Hallcraft's trade-in program. Hallcraft maintained the program for many years, with a separate real estate brokerage. The ad features the "Penthouse" tri-level plan, which was and continues to be a favorite.

Check out this article about a Hallcraft townhouse in Scottsdale becoming "That '70s Pad"!

Having grown up in a Hallcraft in the 1970s, I can say this more than resembles what I remember. Including the big paint stripes... one of my friend's mom painted one of those in chocolate brown, going from room to room in their Hallcraft Hacienda. Groovy!

Many thanks to a Hallcraft fan for posting these images of Hallcraft's Vista San Carlos in San Diego. Hallcraft began building in San Diego in the mid 1960s. The first phase of Vista San Carlos dates to c. 1968. An interesting option available was to have exterior maintenance and landscaping taken care of in what the brochure calls "Champagne Living." It's a concept from Hallcraft's townhouse developments, but novel to have it applied to single family homes.

Advertorial featuring Hallcraft Homes in the September 1954 issue of "Arizona Highways" magazine. The article was titled "Dream Homes by the Dozen" and also featured homes by Alfred Anderson, Hoffman, Staggs, Del Monte, Allied, and Del Webb. True to form, Hallcraft was the only builder with a double-page spread. A pdf of the full magazine can be downloaded from the Arizona Memory Project at:
