notMYkid notMYkid is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of mental and behavioral health and wellness programs for youth and families

Founded in 2000, notMYkid is a Scottsdale-based non-profit dedicated to providing a full continuum of life-saving prevention, early-action programs, behavioral health treatment, and peer support for youth and families. Our team of prevention and behavioral health experts are dedicated to helping youth overcome challenges during their most vulnerable years. Programs are traditionally delivered in schools, community organizations, at the workplace, and at our new wellness facility, The Well. With the arrival of a global pandemic, it is not business as usual and our commitment to quality and inclusivity led to a swift transition to add virtual programs and expansion into treatment services to meet the rapidly changing needs of families in 2022.

🎉 BIG NEWS for Arizona youth and families!

notMYkid has been awarded nearly $7.5 million in federal funding through the five-year AWARE Arizona Project to expand prevention, early intervention, and connections to treatment for youth and families across our state.

Every year for the next five years, we’re working to:
-Reach 100,000 youth
-Support 10,000 family members
-Train 1,000 educators & youth-serving professionals
-Strengthen prevention partnerships across 6 Arizona counties: Maricopa, Navajo, Mohave, Yuma, Cochise, and Pima
-Expand Project REWIND early intervention services statewide

From urban communities to rural, frontier, and Tribal communities, this investment means more local support, earlier intervention, and more opportunities for Arizona kids to thrive.

A drug test kit isn’t about catching your teen, it’s about creating another opportunity for conversation, accountability, and positive choices.

Having one at home can give parents a practical tool to support open conversations about substance use and help youth feel empowered to make healthy decisions, even when parents aren’t around.

Be prepared, start conversations, and support positive choices. Stop by notMYkid to pick up a drug test kit.

If you’re concerned that your youth may be experimenting with or using substances, it’s important to approach the situation with curiosity, connection, and care.

Some teens may try to keep substance use private, which can make it difficult for parents to know what’s happening. As adults, our role is to guide, support, and create safe opportunities for honest conversations while their brains and decision-making skills continue to develop.

If you have concerns about substance use, take a closer look at your teen’s environment for unfamiliar items, products, or objects that could potentially be used to conceal or consume substances, including items with hidden compartments.

Most importantly, don’t jump to conclusions. Use what you notice as an opportunity to start a conversation and learn more about what your teen may be experiencing.

Want to learn more about recognizing potential signs of substance use and how to approach the conversation? Reach out to us today.

Have you thought about using locking prescription vials (LPVs®)? 🤔❓

has LPVs® that have a locking cap with a 4-digit pin to protect against unauthorized medication use.

For parents, this can be an additional tool to help secure medications, reduce the risk of misuse, and create safer spaces at home.

Stop by the notMYkid office and pick up a locking prescription vial.

We all cope in different ways.

Some coping mechanisms are healthier than others. Sometimes we try to put a band-aid over our struggles with certain coping skills but we truly need to rely on healthier options that can support us more in the long run.

Have you noticed your youth exhibiting any of these and want to support them better? DM us today.

Bullying can have a lasting impact on young people, but knowing how to recognize it, respond to it, and speak up can make a difference.

Join notMYkid at the Tempe Public Library for an upcoming family presentation where parents and youth can learn together about:
-What bullying is and the impact it can have
-Bullying vs. conflict and why the difference matters
-Effective strategies for addressing and reporting bullying
-Assertiveness and kindness and how they can help create safer, more supportive environments

This isn’t just a conversation about bullying, it’s an opportunity to give your family practical tools, confidence, and strategies you can use beyond the presentation.

Bring your questions. Bring your kids. Bring your voice.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and take action together!
