Sometimes, making a difference starts with a high five. 💛⚾️

For our Miracle League athletes, a Buddy is more than someone who helps on the field. They’re a teammate, a cheerleader, a confidence-builder—and always, a new friend.

You don’t need baseball experience. You don’t need special skills. You just need a big heart, a willingness to show up and the desire to make someone’s game day a little more special.

We’re working toward our goal of 200 Buddies, and there’s a spot on the team for you.

Our amazing Executive Director, Danielle Downs, sat down with azfamily 3TV & CBS 5 to talk about the heart of the Miracle League of Arizona — our Buddy program — and our current Be the Buddy campaign. 💛⚾️

Buddies do so much more than help our athletes around the bases. They step onto the field beside them, cheer them on, celebrate every moment and help create the confidence, connection and sense of belonging that makes the Miracle League experience so special.

For our athletes, having someone beside them who is fully invested in their moment can make all the difference.

Join us as we build up to Opening Day! Our 3rd Annual Open House is an opportunity for athletes to meet coaches, buddies, and our mascot, Homer! Pickup your jersey and hat, practice your swing and defense and get lots of high fives!

This event is open to all athletes and their families, volunteers and donors.

We’re incredibly grateful to Lerner & Rowe Gives Back for their generous $15,000 gift to help launch our Be the Buddy Campaign and expand The Miracle League of Arizona’s Buddy Program.

Their support will help provide volunteer jerseys, training and program resources as we work toward an important goal: recruiting 200 Buddies so every Miracle League athlete can have someone by their side—encouraging them, celebrating them and cheering them on.

Because being a Buddy is about so much more than baseball. It’s about building confidence, creating meaningful connections and making sure every athlete feels seen, included and celebrated.

Every player deserves someone cheering them on.

Today, we’re officially launching the Be the Buddy Campaign—a community-wide effort to recruit 200 Buddies and make sure every Miracle League athlete has someone by their side each game.

Because being a Buddy is about so much more than baseball.

It’s showing up.
Cheering loud.
Building confidence.
Creating memories.
And making sure every athlete feels seen, included and celebrated.

And here’s the best part: you don’t need any experience to be a Buddy. If you’re 12 or older and ready to encourage, support and have a whole lot of fun, there’s a place for you here. 💛
