A huge congratulations to Marcy Lewis, our incredible Director of Family and Volunteer Engagement, who took home the Golden Ticket Award at the PJ Library International Conference!

Last week at the PJ Library International conference, five individuals were awarded the first-ever PJ Library Golden Ticket, with a prize from program founder Harold Grinspoon, in recognition of their outstanding efforts in creating innovative growth strategies.

- Marcy Lewis, from Phoenix, was recognized for building an extraordinary bridge between PJ Library and local Jewish organizations.
- Allison Granet, from Austin, was recognized for going far beyond the usual spaces to find families where they live, work, and play.
- Alyssa Kaitz, from Boston, was recognized for experimenting with new online strategies to engage families.
- Erica Danziger, from Western Bergen County, NJ, and Risa Goldstein, from LA, were each recognized for investing in strategies to welcome new families.

Congratulations to all of these PJ Library program professionals -- and to their communities! We are all so lucky to benefit from your work and creativity.

Mark your calendars for Phoenix Pride Weekend, October 17–19! To kick things off, we are encouraging families to host a Rainbow Shabbat on Friday evening, supported by the PJ Library Get Together Grants. It’s a beautiful way to welcome Shabbat with friends and family while celebrating the diversity of our community. If you’d like some inspiration or ideas, reach out. I’d love to help you plan!

On Saturday night, we’ll close out Shabbat in the most fabulous way with a Sparkle Havdalah featuring Cantor Zachary, also known as the celebrated drag queen Aunt Shirley! Expect an evening filled with Jewish joy, sparkly fun, face painting by Storybook Entertainment, snacks, and more. Space is limited, so don’t wait to register.

On Sunday, we’ll keep the celebration going as we march in the Pride Parade with Aunt Shirley and the Arizona Jews for Pride group! It’s going to be an unforgettable weekend of community, celebration, and pride. All registration details are below. We can’t wait to see you there!
