Dr. Karen WIllfahrt, Director and Founder of Life Journey Partners of America, Inc, will facilitate an ongoing Focus Group discussion on September 25th at 1PM at the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce, to discuss strategies that as a community and Fountain Hills Chamber members can empower caregivers and provide needed support to grow the number of hired caregivers needed to care for those who require care. This is an important topic since there are over 53 million unpaid caregivers providing care for at least one person, family or friend, and there are 5 million hired caregivers, with a startling 80% turnover rate.

Many of those in attendance at the August Focus Group were interested in discussing the possibility of forming a Volunteer Respite Club or Cooperative. There are such Volunteer Respite Platform in existence in the United States, and we will review how they are serving those in need and what is needed to organize such a program. All interested in discussing and researching this possibility more are whole heartedly invited to join the conversation. Dr. Willfahrt will provide a detailed overview of this topic for those in attendance. Building community support for caregivers is good for our future. Let's join together to find solutions.

Life Journey Partners of America, Inc., is a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to transforming caregiving through holistic and community-based solutions. Our mission is to Empower Caregivers to Care for themselves and those they care for.
We are reaching out to the greater community to find creative financial solutions to support caregivers outside of the traditional healthcare platform.
Across the United States, 1 in 5 adults, over 53 million people, are providing unpaid care to loved ones, often with little to no formal support. In fact, 43% of caregivers shoulder this responsibility alone, spending more than 20 hours per week on caregiving duties. These demands come at a cost: 72% experience financial strain, and 65% report stepping away from work entirely or reducing their hours.
While our attention often centers on patient care, the caregiver workforce, 5 million strong across hospitals, care facilities, and home settings, is silently collapsing under the weight of its own challenges. With an 80% turnover rate and chronic issues like low wages, emotional burnout, and lack of training, the need for sustainable, innovative solutions is urgent.
In response, we’ve developed the Caregiving Reimagined Community program, a scalable grassroots initiative designed to empower caregivers and the communities they serve.
We are in the process of scheduling our first quarterly Focus Group Meeting at the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce for August to identify the most pressing needs from caregivers, businesses, churches and civic groups in community of Fountain Hills. We want to hear from you.
In September, we will hold our first Caregiving Reimagined: Stronger Together workshop to assist community groups to develop their own financial and manpower support strategy to better ensure Caregivers are available in the future to care for our most vulnerable citizens. Please Join Us!
