Every movement begins with a story. ❤️

For our founder, Jonathan Cottor, that story began right here in Arizona—with his family, their son Ryan, and a vision that helped bring Ryan House to life in Phoenix.

Jonathan recently joined Steve Petz and Shelby Arians on the Move the Needle Podcast for a conversation about confidence, purpose, connection, and how personal experiences can inspire meaningful change.

What began as a family's journey has helped inspire a national movement—now connecting 54 communities across 31 states, all working toward more places of care, comfort, and support for children with serious medical complexities and their families.

What began with a handful of pioneers is becoming a national movement. 💙

Two weeks ago, hundreds of families, caregivers, community leaders, healthcare professionals and policymakers came together for our first Home for Every Child National Pediatric Palliative Care Home Summit.

What we saw gave us tremendous hope for what's possible.

Today, Children's Respite Homes of America connects 54 communities across 31 states — communities working to bring pediatric respite, palliative and end-of-life care support closer to home.

And as we begin Year 5, we're ready to build on that momentum.

How do we build stronger community-based support for children with medical complexities and their families?

Our founder and CEO, Jonathan Cottor, recently joined Holly Vossel of Hospice News on the Elevate Podcast for a conversation about the changing pediatric palliative care landscape — and the work still ahead.

They talked about caregiving, including caregiving at end of life; why families need support much further upstream than hospice; and how community-based Pediatric Palliative Care Centers can provide respite, palliative care and end-of-life support for children and their families.

They also explored one of the biggest challenges facing this work: creating the policy, reimbursement and sustainability pathways that will allow these homes to grow in communities across the country.

Many of these same themes were front and center at last week’s Home for Every Child Summit, as families, community leaders and national experts came together around a shared vision for the future.

What an incredible first **Home for Every Child – National Pediatric Palliative Care Home Summit!** 💙

Hero's Path Palliative Care, based in Albuquerque, NM, provides compassionate supportive care to children with serious illnesses and their families. Their services include out-of-school educational programs, short-break childcare for children with medical complexity and their siblings, school break camps, and emotional support, all tailored to each family's unique needs.
