🥋 THE SCIENCE BEHIND MARTIAL ARTS & ACADEMIC SUCCESS 📚

ACTIVSTARS ATHLETICS FALL 2026 SEASON — ENROLLING NOW!

Did you know the skills children practice in martial arts can also support the skills they need to succeed in school?

Martial arts is much more than learning kicks, blocks, and punches. Structured training challenges students to listen, focus, remember instructions, control their movements, set goals, and keep trying when something is difficult.

🧠 FOCUS & ATTENTION*Students practice tuning out distractions, listening to their instructor, and concentrating on the task in front of them — skills that can carry over into the classroom.

🎯 GOAL SETTING
Earning the next belt takes time and effort. Students learn that big goals are achieved through small, consistent steps — the same mindset that helps with homework, studying, and academic improvement.

💪 SELF-DISCIPLINE & SELF-CONTROL
Martial arts teaches students to manage their bodies, emotions, and reactions. Developing self-regulation can help children make better choices and stay on task.

🧩 MEMORY & LEARNING
Learning combinations, techniques, and forms requires students to remember sequences and apply instructions — giving them regular practice using important cognitive skills.

⭐ CONFIDENCE & PERSEVERANCE
Students won't master every technique on the first try — and that's the point! Martial arts provides opportunities to make mistakes, receive feedback, practice, improve, and experience success through effort.

At ActivStars Athletics, we're not just developing martial artists.

We're helping develop focused, disciplined, confident young people who know how to set goals and work toward achieving them — on the mat, in the classroom, and in life.
