Salty Scuba Squad Salty Scuba Squad Inc is a woman-led 501(c)(3) non-profit Scuba Diving and Paddleboarding group dedicated to cleaning up Arizona's Waterways.

While diving at Sheeps Crossing last week, our team found this lanyard underwater. After pulling it out, we realized there was a wedding ring hanging from it!

Before we could post it, the owner sent us an email on our website www.saltyscubasquad.org and we were able to match it up🎉🤙🏻🤿

If you have lost something in the river or lakes, please shoot us a message on the website so we can match it up and find you if you don’t have emergency contacts in your phone or other identifying markers on your items.

Good morning and happy Sunday🤙🏻

We’d like to send a HUGE shoutout to the team Riverbound Sports Paddle Company for saving the day and lending us a board on the scene! (Also my skin- Thanks for the hat Teri Haugen Carlin)

This week our volunteers pulled 423 pounds of trash out of the Salt River and found a few treasures along the way. We were even able to return a phone minutes after it dropped.

Joe was interviewed by FOX 10 Phoenix this morning! Hopefully this raises some awareness of all the trash that the volunteer groups: SALT RIVER WASTE AND TRASH TEAM - SWATT, Natural Restorations, and River Rangers AZ have to deal with all summer out there. We are volunteers and do not get paid for pulling trash off the banks or from the bottom of the river, but we do love giving back to the community and returning lost treasures. 🤙🏼

The collaborative post holiday weekend “Trashy Tuesdays” are always epic. On May 26th, the Squad teamed up with SALT RIVER WASTE AND TRASH TEAM - SWATT Salt River Tubing Redline Rentals and Sales U.S. Forest Service-Tonto National Forest Natural Restorations Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, Mesa AZ Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and First Watch on Dobson Rd to break all the previous records:
57 volunteers
2526.18 lbs of trash removed
21.4 lbs in vapes redirected for proper disposal
39 phones recovered, many already returned or shipped back to their owners
3 wallets, 1 returned already
1 DJI Action camera

Let us know if you recognize any of the lock screens on the 7 working phones still to be returned - would love to reunite them with their owners. Also let us know if you recognize any of the 10 non-working phones looking for their owners.
