The Rotary Club of Scottsdale North generously donated to the Kids Need To Read program, a Mesa, Arizona-based non-profit organization that provides books and literacy programs to disadvantaged children across the United States to foster a love of reading and improve literacy rates and we received a thank you letter from them reading in part:

“We sincerely thank you for your generous donation to Kids Need to Read. Your support is instrumental in fostering a love for reading among children and empowering them with the gift of knowledge.

Because of donors like you, we are able to provide invaluable literacy resources to children facing challenging circumstances. Your donation will not only put books into their hands but also open doors to learning, imagination, and a brighter future. The skills they develop through reading will stay with them for a lifetime, helping to shape their education and opportunities. “

Our Club welcomed at last night’s Club meeting visiting District 5495 Governor-Elect for 2026-27 Joe Sweeney and his wife Linda, who is also a Rotarian.

Joe is a member and former president of the Rotary Club of Prescott Valley, and Linda is the current President of The Prescott Frontier Rotary Club.

Scottsdale North Rotarians joined together again on Saturday to clean up Pima Road at Jomax as part of the Club’s community service work. The project is organized through City of Scottsdale Adopt-A-Road.
