Our Early Childhood Committee members installed new books at the Scott County Courthouse and Austin Community Park StoryWalk locations!

In "Strega Nona's Harvest" Strega Nona tries to teach Big Anthony about gardening and the importance of orderly planting. The book, sponsored by Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council, will be at the courthouse until early January. "Emma Stein's Hollyween" which was sponsored by Duke Energy Foundation, will be at Austin Park until early January.

Our Early Childhood Committee members installed new books at the Spicertown and Manaugh Park StoryWalk locations! "One Leaf, Two Leaves, Count With Me" is the perfect book for this fall season. The book, sponsored by Duke Energy Foundation, will be at Spicertown Park until early December. "The Little Engine That Could" which was sponsored by Home Helpers Home Care, will be at Manaugh Park until early December.

The community is invited to attend the Spicertown Park dedication this Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. The park is at 336 Gibson Drive, Austin.

We had beautiful weather and a fantastic group of people in the Leadership Southern Indiana DISCOVER class for Scott County Day! This group of leaders participate in a 9-month program of adult field trips where they learn all about our communities in southern Indiana. Check out leadershipsi.org for more information.

Scott County Community Foundation board member Shari Baumann presents a check for $18,830 to United Way of Scott County Executive Director Ellen Owens. The grant was awarded from the United Way of Scott County Operating Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation and will be used to support their mission and programs.
