🚨 Happy ! 🚨

Today we take a moment to thank the brave men and women who answer the call—no matter the hour, no matter the situation.

To our Firefighters, EMS professionals, Law Enforcement officers, and 911 Dispatchers — thank you for the sacrifices you make every single day. You give your time, your dedication, and often time away from your families to serve and protect our communities. You are the calm in the chaos, the strength in moments of fear, and the backbone of emergency response.

From all of us at Swearengin Fire Department, we appreciate you — not just today, but every day. ❤️💙💛

Did you know that cooking fires are the #1 cause of home fires and injuries? Most happen when people leave food unattended on the stove. 🍳

Here are a few simple ways to stay safe in the kitchen:
👩‍🍳 Stay in the kitchen while cooking—especially when using the stovetop.
🔥 Keep flammable items like towels, oven mitts, and paper away from burners.
⏰ Use a timer to remind you that you’re cooking.
🧯 Have a lid nearby to smother small grease fires—never use water on them!

A few seconds of caution can prevent a lifetime of regret. Let’s all do our part to keep Swearengin safe this Fire Prevention Week! ❤️‍🔥

🔥 Fire Prevention Week Tip from Swearengin Fire Department! 🔥

Did you know that overloaded electrical outlets are one of the leading causes of home fires each year? ⚡️

Here are a few simple ways to keep your home safe:
🔌 Never overload outlets—plug only one high-wattage appliance into each outlet.
💡 Use power strips wisely—avoid daisy-chaining multiple strips together.
🧯 Inspect cords regularly for damage or fraying and replace them right away.
🚫 Don’t run cords under rugs or furniture where they can overheat.

A little prevention goes a long way in keeping your family and home safe.
Let’s work together this Fire Prevention Week to reduce the risk of electrical fires! 💪🔥

🔥 Fire Prevention Week Reminder! 🔥

SVFD wants to remind everyone about lithium battery safety — a growing concern in many homes. Lithium batteries power so many of our everyday items — phones, tablets, e-bikes, tools, and more — but if not used or charged properly, they can become a serious fire hazard.

⚡ Here are a few important safety tips:
✅ Only use batteries and chargers that are certified and made for your device.
✅ Never charge batteries under your pillow, on your bed, or on a couch.
✅ Stop using a battery if it shows signs of swelling, overheating, or leaking.
✅ Keep devices and batteries away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
✅ Always unplug chargers once the device is fully charged.

Taking a few small precautions can prevent a big disaster. Let’s all do our part to keep our homes and families safe! 🔥🏠

🔥 Fire Prevention Week Reminder! 🔥

Today for Fire Prevention Week, Swearengin Fire Department wants to remind everyone about the importance of candle safety 🕯️

Candles may make your home feel cozy, but they can also be a serious fire hazard if not used carefully. Always remember:
🚫 Never leave a candle burning unattended — even for a short time.
🔥 Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that can burn, like curtains, paper, or decorations.
👶 Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
✅ Always blow out candles before you leave the room or go to bed.

A little caution goes a long way in keeping your family and home safe! If you ever have questions about fire safety, reach out to a member of Swearengin Fire Department or message us here on Facebook.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 2025 🔥

This week, Swearengin Fire Department wants to remind everyone just how important it is to check your smoke detectors!

Smoke detectors are often the first line of defense in a fire — giving you and your loved ones the precious seconds needed to escape safely. Make sure you:
✅ Test your smoke alarms monthly
✅ Replace batteries at least once a year
✅ Replace the entire alarm every 10 years

If you need help checking or installing your smoke detectors, please reach out to one of our department members or contact us right here on Facebook! We’re always happy to help keep our community safe.

Let’s work together to prevent fires before they start. Stay safe! 🚒🔥

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the events of September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and countless first responders who ran toward danger without hesitation.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication remind us of the true meaning of service.

As we reflect, let us never forget the unity and strength that carried our country through those dark days. May we continue to stand together in honor of those who gave everything.
