Looking for great things from these Junior CIVITAN s again this year!

Newly elected officers for the Junior Civitan club at Scottsboro High School are: President-Holland Griggs, Vice-President-Cadence Key, Secretary-Kennedy Key, and Treasurer-Alex Holder. Congratulations to each of them.

John Elmore, a faithful Christian and a strong member of our CIVITAN Club passed from this earth on June 22 with his family at his side, a prayer on his heart and a gospel song on his lips.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and many whom he served that didn’t even know his name.

He is at home with Jesus and with his wife Bettye and brother Charles who also passed in recent illnesses. He was faithful caregiver for both of them for several years.

Please honor him by posting a fond memory or story of John’s good humor or service to His Lord.

In celebration of our annual Creed Week, CIVITAN members Jo Davis McBride and Sarah Kennedy Precise delivered some non-verbal emergency communication cards and sweet treats to our first responders.

This week our club members will be LIVING OUT THE CIVITAN CREED! During our annual creed week we try to live out the calling to use “our hands to reach out in service to others”.

Monday- delivering Blessing Bags of toiletries to people at Highlands Rehabilitation and Life Resources

Wednesday- delivering laminated Emergency Communications sheets to 1st responders in Law Enforcement and Fire Stations. These sheet help them to communicate with children and people with autism or other communication problems during crisis situations. We’ll also deliver some goodies to say thanks for their unselfish service to our community!

Saturday- we will be doing some landscaping tasks in the morning for the ARC of Jackson County. Everyone is invited to come out and help so we can get more done.

All Member Meeting Tuesday!

Ferns- Thanks so much to all of you for selling (and delivering when necessary)! A special thanks to those who helped at the Clarion during pickup Monday- Sarah Precise, Jo McBride, and Cathy Mitchell!!
EVERYONE will meet this coming Tuesday at 5:30. We will gather at the Rec Comm Center in Room 104. We will have Publix Chicken Fingers and sides so come hungry.
We will watch an inspiring video and discuss upcoming projects like Creed Week Feel free to invite a friend to introduce them to the fellowship of CIVITAN.

I must know how many are coming before Sunday at NOON to order the food so please REPLY yes and the number of meals you need.

Fern pickup is tomorrow in front of Pruett/ Clarion. Club members getting multiple orders can come beginning at 11:30. Individuals can pick up starting at NOON. I will stay there until all are picked up or 5 pm- whichever comes first.
Have 3 Asparagus and 2 Sword available to sell to first bidder!

Thanks to everyone who purchased our Dixie Green ferns! We sold 175 ferns so we must follow a schedule to reduce wait times during pick up. Here they are:

Ferns will be available — only for club members who have bulk orders — to pickup in front of Pruett Construction beginning at 11:30 am on Monday April 10th.

Individual customers picking up must wait until NOON to pick up their ferns. Pickup ends at 5 pm so please make arrangements to pick up by then.

Thanks again! 90% of profits go towards our Every Child Playground Initiative. Like all our fundraisers, 10% of profits go to the CIVITAN International Research Center in Birmingham.

We have a very small number of extra ferns available. $20 each. If you would like a Boston or Asparagus fern message us - 1st come!

FERN sale continues! Get your orders in NOW! Our goal is to raise $1000 for our Every Child Playground Initiative- this will push our total fund to over $10,000! Join us Tuesday night March 14 at 5:30 at La Cabana at 2940 Veteran’s Drive to celebrate this important milestone!

Four of our members were able to volunteer at Night to Shine at Agape Friday night! Over 100 volunteers buddied up with a fun group of guys and gals from the community to enjoy a prom night type experience including limousine rides, photo shoots, games, dancing and music. Thanks to Agape, Tim Tebow’s Foundation, and all the supporters who made it possible!!
