Just AWFUL!!! What kind of people keep allowing this to happen 😡 Never mind, we know! SPAY/NEUTER! Be responsible pet owners! It’s also horrible when you see all the free kittens and puppies on What’s Happening In Scottsboro!

Dogs/puppies, cats/kittens are starving from being dumped, unwanted/homeless, being euthanized at shelters. Enough-spread the word. Educate someone!

100 Animals in 5 Days.

Let that sink in for a moment.

In just a five-day period, over 100 animals entered our shelter. One hundred lives depending on us to find space, food, medical care, fosters, rescues, and ultimately homes.

We are beyond full and urgently need help.

🐾 Adopt. Every adoption saves more than one life. When an animal leaves the shelter, it opens a kennel for another animal in need.

🐾 Foster. We have many animals currently in foster homes. When they get adopted, those foster families can step up and save another life. Fostering is one of the most powerful ways you can help.

🐾 Rescues, we need you. Every pull matters right now.

🐾 Volunteers and community support are needed more than ever. Share posts, network animals, talk to friends and family, and help us reach potential adopters and fosters.

Most importantly:

Spay and neuter your pets. It is the single most effective way to reduce shelter overcrowding and prevent unwanted litters from entering an already overwhelmed system.

Be a responsible pet owner. Keep your pets safely confined to your property. Don't allow them to roam. Make sure they are properly socialized and under control. We are seeing an increasing number of aggressive animal cases, and many of those animals must be legally held, taking up valuable kennel space. When kennels are occupied, owner surrenders and other animals in need often never get the opportunity to reach the adoption floor.

This isn't just a shelter problem. It's a community problem that requires a community solution.

One hundred animals in five days.

One hundred lives that need help.

Please adopt. Please foster. Please rescue. Please spay and neuter. Please share.

The animals are counting on all of us. ❤️🐾

We are one week away from the 7th Annual Community Day 🤩
A big shoutout to our partners for making this the event possible!

South Huntsville Veterinary Hospital - through Monte's Clinic efforts we will have FOUR vets on site providing routine care!
FREE vaccines! FREE microchips! Free flea & tick!!

FREE spay/neuter vouchers - thanks to Family Savings Credit Union and a few private donors!! North Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic will be on-site scheduling appointments too!

ACE-K9-Training will be hosting mini-sessions throughout the morning, while Juli with Lucky Dog Mobile Groomers Alabama will be with us promoting their "new to North Alabama" services, along with offering free nail trims, by request, with each rabies vaccine at the clinic 🐾

Our friends, Oody's will be chatting with everyone about their pet waste service (less than $10 a week!), AND....
DonutNV North Alabama will be serving up the sweet treats for the humans - small donuts and lemonade/coffee for each family that receives a service - larger orders are available for purchase!

We will also be hosting a King's Kitchen distribution, no questions asked (and you do not have to be on the program) throughout the event, 9AM-12PM!!
