Join us this Thursday night, October 22nd, 2026, as our Ministry Leader Jason Hass teaches a lesson on the first step in recovery, stepping out of Denial (hint, it helps to open your eyes and ears and face reality)! Remember, free meal is at 5:30pm, and service begins at 6pm. Michele will be our service leader and Ashton will be bringing us live music again! We will have CELEBRATION STATION for your kiddos, and several small group opportunities! Don't miss out on a blessing!

As we mentioned last week, this week we will begin a daily meditation writing prompt to help us all WORK our recovery. If you feel comfortable, read and reflect on today's prompt. If you prefer anonymity, simply DM us your response (and as always, what is said at Mercy Place stays at Mercy Place).

A Moment of Mercy at The Mercy Place

“No one should have to go through recovery alone.” ~ Celebrate Recovery

Sometimes the bravest step we take is letting someone know we’re struggling. God’s grace often reaches us through people willing to listen, pray, and walk beside us. Whatever you’re carrying today, you deserve support.

Today’s writing prompt:
“What am I trying to carry alone, and what would asking for help look like today?”

Take a few quiet minutes to write honestly. You can keep your reflection between you and God.

You belong at The Mercy Place.

Today we would like to introduce you to the Mercy Place Celebrate Recovery Small Group leaders. Mr. Jason Hass will be leading the Men's Recovery Small Group. Ms. Michele Richard will be leading the Women's Recovery Small Group. Mr. and Mrs. Ron and Pat Bryant will be leading our Families of Addicted Loved Ones Small Group. Mr. Terry Couch and Mrs. Carol Maxwell will be leading our Grief Support Small Group.

All of these small group leaders bring incredible passion and empathy to the Mercy Place. All of these leaders have been involved in different recovery programs and Celebrate Recovery for years. Each have amazing testimonies and recovery they are happy to share. At the Mercy Place we embrace the paradox that in order to keep it (recovery), we must give it away! We hope to see you Thursday night!

One new feature of our relaunch is a dedication to WORK recovery more than just Thursday nights. Beginning next Monday we will begin posting a daily Celebrate Recovery meditation/devotional that we hope will be a blessing to you! One of the best ways to work and keep your recovery is to contemplate and journal daily. We hope you will consider responding to our Monday-Friday posts as a means of keeping all of our recoveries burning bright!

🎉 Introducing Celebration Station at The Mercy Place Celebrate Recovery!

As we relaunch "The Mercy Place", we want to introduce you to some of the exciting activities and leader who we will be working with. We begin with "Celebration Station".

Recovery can bring healing to the whole family, and our children need a place to grow, too! Celebration Station offers a loving, Christ-centered space where kids can build friendships and discover that they are loved, valued, and never alone.

Through Bible stories, games, music, and creative activities, children will learn about naming their feelings, making healthy choices, forgiveness, asking for help, and trusting Jesus through life’s challenges. ❤️

Dr. Amy Holder will lead this ministry alongside children’s co-leaders Mrs. Billie Joe Burns and Mrs. Tiffany Bridges.

Join us Thursday nights at Scottsboro First United Methodist Church! Free meal at 5:30 p.m., with Celebrate Recovery and children’s activities beginning at 6 p.m.

Bring your children, there’s a place for the whole family at The Mercy Place!

IT'S TIME! The official relaunch of The Mercy Place Celebrate Recovery will be this NEXT Thursday night, October 15th, 2026. New ministry leader Jason Hass will welcome Dr. Hardin Coleman to speak on Recovery 101 (the what, why & how). Just a reminder, recovery is for EVERYONE! We all are struggling in our own way. Join us for a free meal at 5:30pm, with service beginning at 6pm. We will have live music, and Dr. Amy Holder will be providing "Celebration Station" for your/our children. After large group, we will hold small group meetings that will focus on issues such as grief, Alanon (a support group for family members of addicted loved ones), and addiction. Don't miss out on an amazing blessing!
