Panhandle Equality began as a small group of dedicated LGBT individuals & allies in 2015 to host a Pride Picnic. Our first Pride was held August 2015 in Gering, NE where nearly 150 people from 3 states attended. In 2019, we celebrated our 5th Annual Panhandle Pride which drew over 400 people! It’s safe to say that Megan Barhafer enjoyed playing kickball! 😊. So happy to have had the 5 by-passers see us playing and walked over and asked if they could join.

Today and every day, we continue our fight for freedom while celebrating the rich and diverse history of Black Americans.

There is no LGBTQ+ freedom without Black freedom.
