It was never a secret that Corey connected with folks far and wide, but even more with those right in our own community.

One of our favorite things is hearing all of the stories and seeing how Corey touched the lives of others. Corey had a unique connection with all that knew him.

Corey had been involved with FayWest Fast Pitch for several years, and left quite the impact. A couple months ago, Cody Logan reached out to let us know he had put plans in motion to honor Corey at Loucks Park in Scottdale where they played. He put together a banner and gained the support of the borough to hang it so that Corey could always be their “angel in the outfield.”

Tonight, we had the honor of hanging that banner.

We hope that you all take a moment to slow down and do something you love in honor of Corey. Watch a softball game, go to the drive in, call an old friend, or just take a ride out a back road - enjoy the “little” things.

Thank you to FayWest Fast Pitch, Cody, Tim, and all of the players for thinking so kindly of Corey, and for helping us to continue the mission. 💚

As we all reel it back in from our 3rd annual golf outing this past weekend, on behalf of the foundation, we simply want to say… thank you.

There aren’t enough words to express what this day meant to all of us.

To our golfers: Thank you for being troopers through the rain, for your patience, your laughter, and your unwavering support. Thank you for sharing all the Corey stories. Nearly every team we talked to had something to say about Corey with a smile on their face. You chose to spend your day with us, and in doing so, you helped continue the mission that he started, that continues to change lives. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

To Glengarry Golf Links: Thank you for welcoming us back, for believing in the cause, and for helping everything run so smoothly. Thank you for handling us gently, as it means more than you know as we picked up the pieces where Corey left them for us.

To our sponsors, family, friends, and volunteers: This event happened because of you. Whether you donated, sponsored a hole, sold tickets, served breakfast, worked a game, drove a cart, cleaned up, or simply showed up, you played a part in making all of this possible. There are countless moving pieces and every one of them matters. Thank you for standing beside us.

And finally, to Corey.

This one was hard. We miss you so much.

Nothing about this day felt quite the same without you. We missed your smile, your laugh, your direction, and your presence around every corner. There are moments where it really hurt knowing that you weren’t there to see it all unfold. But we did it. Your family, your friends, and this incredible community came together because of the legacy that you built.

We hope we made you proud.

And even though it rained so hard we couldn’t see and it left many of us wringing out our clothes, the clouds broke just when we needed them to, and the sun shined through. We’d like to think you called in that favor for us. 💚

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in the mission. Because of you, Corey’s legacy lives on, not just in these memories, but in every meal served, every family supported, every scholarship awarded, every dollar put into research, and every single life touched.

Just a reminder that our 3rd annual golf outing is happening as scheduled tomorrow, July 18, 2026! We thank all of our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers for your help in making this successful once again! We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow and continue Corey's legacy.

Our 3rd Annual Rhodes Cancer Foundation Golf Outing is just around the corner on Saturday, July 18, and this year’s official golf outing shirts are now available!

These shirts are more than just event tees. They’re a way to carry Corey’s legacy with you and show your support for the mission he started. They help spread awareness of the Foundation and the work we continue to do in his honor.

Shirts are available to order now, will also be sold at the outing (made on site by Winning Sports Graphics!), and will remain available for a short time afterward. We love to see supporters wearing them proudly.

It means the world to our family and everyone involved to see this community continue to rally around the Foundation. Together, we’re making sure Corey’s kindness, generosity, and heart continue to impact the lives of cancer patients and their families.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, July 18, as we come together to celebrate, remember, and continue the work that all began with one person who simply wanted to help others.
