YAY GAELO!
Exciting Announcement: Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) Selected as a 2024 Legislative Priority
We are immensely proud to share the great news that Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) has been chosen as a 2024 Legislative Priority by the members of the Georgia Council on Aging!
This achievement is a significant milestone, not only for our advocacy efforts but for the many older Georgians who may face long, painful, and costly terminal diagnoses. The impact of this choice resonates deeply with individuals and their families, who often endure agonizing experiences.
A MAID law in Georgia would represent a path towards compassion, dignity, and choice. It would offer the option to die with dignity and alleviate the prolonged suffering that can accompany an inevitable death.
To each of you who supported, voted, and believed in this cause, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your actions have not only supported our mission but have contributed to a broader movement towards empathy, understanding, and dignity within our community.
We are one step closer to making Georgia a place where the values of compassion and dignity are upheld. Thank you for standing with us on this important journey. https://lnkd.in/gMaPYPWK
