Thank you so much to the participants of this year's 1st annual Plein Air Art Contest!

🎨🖌️The Scottdale 150th Anniversary Committee would like to formally invite YOU to attend our Plein Air Event Art Gallery this coming weekend. 🖌️🎨

We will be showcasing and selling art that was submitted by the Plein Air artists.

Please be sure to come and show your support to the artists by visiting our Art Gallery during the Scottdale Fall Festival.

The art will be available for purchase.

The gallery will be set up inside of the Elks Building.

Hours of operation will be as follows:

🎉Opening Night! 🎉
Thursday, Sept 19:6pm-8pm

Friday, Sept 20: 5pm-9pm
Saturday, Sept 21: 1:30pm-9pm
Sunday, Sept 22: 1pm-3pm

Judges will be giving awards during opening night and people's choice awards will be announced at 3pm on Sunday.

Don't miss your opportunity to own a piece of art inspired by Scottdale.

There will be a time capsule ceremony at the Fall Festival. This will take place Friday the 20th at 7pm during the Borough Presentation. The ceremony will happen in the Gazebo area.

Items that can go in the time capsule:

Photos
Key chains
Small trinkets
Letters to the future generations
Postcards
Recipes
Drawings
Coins

No electronics, wood, or rubber

Items may be brought to the Borough Building or given to the Scottdale Historical Society and Scottdale's 150th Anniversary Committee. Please private message either group to arrange the drop off.

🚨🚨🚨It's not too late to enter the contest for a chance to win some cold hard cash!!🚨🚨🚨

The 150th committee is hosting a Parade Float Contest for the Fall Festival Parade and everyone is welcome to enter! Families, businesses, schools, churches, non-profits!

There will be prize money awarded to 3 separate categories with the opportunity to win as much as $500!

There is no required theme but there will be extra points given to those that have a "Scottdale" based theme.

If you haven't had a chance to purchase your commemorative blanket yet have no fear! We will be selling the blankets up until the last day of the Fall Festival.

These commemorative blankets are a collaborative effort between the Picnic In The Park, Fall Festival, and 150th committees. All proceeds will benefit future community events.

Blankets will be on sale during the Fall Festival at the Scottdale Savings and Trust Bank as well as at the information desk.

If you would like to snag yours before then please reach out to us and we can make arrangements to help you get one between now and Sept 19.

They're being sold for only $25.

Tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Scottdale Library, the Story Telling presentation will feature speaker Bob Percy. Mr. Percy will be speaking about Briercheck's, Scottdale's Industry, including the Pipe Mill, Scottdale Sheet & Tin and more. We hope to have time for some Q&A with Mr. Percy at the end of the presentation. We hope to see you there!

August 17th will be your 4th and final opportunity to take part in our Plein Air Event at Maple Bottom Farm.

If you haven't made it out to the previous events, don't let that scare you off from joining in on the remaining events! We're still happily accepting entries. 😊

Registration for our 4th event will be from 10am-12pm this Saturday at the farm.

What is it?
Plein Air Painting simply means painting in the open air.

An entry fee of $10 covers entry into this event. There is no fee for the youth categories. Each piece of artwork will be entered for a chance to win a prize. All artwork will be displayed at the Fall Festival.

In honor of Scottdale’s 150th Anniversary, there will be four Plein Air Events in and around Scottdale scheduled once a month from May 2024 until August 2024.

The 150th committee is excited to share that we will have a booth selling our 150th merch along with the commemorative blanket at the Loucks home across the street from Loucks park during Picnic in the Park August 18th.

The house will also be open for free tours so don't miss the opportunity to come and see inside this historic Scottdale home.
