West Virginia V.F.W. Youth Camp

It is with great sadness and utter disappointment that we have had to make a decision to cancel the 2022 WV VFW Youth Camp. We have received very few applications for campers and not nearly enough volunteers to be able to host a camp. To all those who did apply to attend camp this year, we sincerely apologize and will miss getting to see all of you.

We hope that you all have a great summer! If you want to see the WV VFW Youth Camp return in some form next year, please share your desire with us, with your local VFW Post and Auxiliaries, and with friends and family. Let us know that there is a need and a desire and we will do our best to bring back an awesome camp experience.

The WV VFW Youth Camp is currently scheduled for July 6 - 10, 2022 at Camp Appalachia in Scott Depot, WV. That's a Wednesday - Sunday this year.

We are looking for veterans and veteran family members ages 18 and older to be counselors, especially those who are members of the VFW and VFW Auxiliary.

We also want campers ages 11-13, male or female to sign up for an exciting week. The camp is free to all campers and we seek donations through local WV VFW Posts and outside sponsorship to cover the costs.

Please consider signing up to join us and share the applications with family, friends, neighbors and co-workers so that we can make this year's camp another great year! Attached is the volunteer and camper application link.

2022 WV VFW Youth Camp is happening!!!

Save the date: July 6 - 10, 2022
Location: Camp Appalachia, Scott Depot, WV
For campers age 11-13 years old as of July 6, 2022

The camp has been adjusted to run from a Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon to help our volunteers reduce their needed time off. Our program activities include a Flag Retirement Ceremony, presentations on the POW/MIA table and history of the U.S. Flag, archery, BB guns, Rock Wall, swimming, field games, and a cookout/dance!

I hadn't noticed that no one has posted concerning this year's Camp. Obviously, since many restrictions have just been lifted there will not be a VFW Youth Camp this summer. I hope that this will give us one year to plan for next years camp. I hope that info will be shared as soon as it is available !
