We are a Christian ministry that works to bridge the gap between generous sponsors and families needing assistance at Christmas time by providing gifts & encouragement. Back in 2013, Kathy Hewitt who is the founder of The Christmas Project, learned about a family who was struggling to provide Christmas for their two small children. With her lifelong passion for children and her heart for ministry
, she went to the store and picked up a few things to help make their holiday special. That same year, Kathy heard about several other struggling families. She reached out to some friends and asked if they would like to help. And just like that, The Christmas Project was born. Since then, we have had the incredible honor of serving over 1,800 families. Over the years, we’ve joined together as a community to help some of the most vulnerable children in Franklin and Cumberland counties. In 2023, the program had grown so much that we made the exciting decision to divide it into smaller, more manageable communities for the 2024 holiday season. We now have dedicated volunteers serving as TCP Coordinators for each community. These leaders carry the same passion and giving spirit that Kathy started with and are helping us continue to grow and reach more families. With this expansion, we have also made the decision to change our name to The Christmas Projects which is a reflection of our growing reach and our dream to one day serve families in other areas, and even in other states. Kathy is beyond excited to see this ministry grow and serve even more people. None of this would be possible without our amazing coordinators, sponsors, volunteers, local businesses, and churches. From Kathy and everyone at The Christmas Projects — thank you from the bottom of our hearts for stepping up and helping us bring joy, love, and hope to families in need. TOGETHER, WE CAN DO MORE! Let’s continue to work together to spread the joy of our Savior’s birth — bringing help and hope to families in our communities.
