As summer comes to an end, I can’t let the autumn breeze roll in without first thanking everyone who made The Tipping Point Project’s Summer Flag Football League such a success. 💙💛🏈
Thank you to the Town of Scotland Neck for hosting us and providing a safe space for our community’s youth to play, grow, and enjoy themselves.
Shout out to our Board of Directors, who worked tirelessly—and without pay—to help us fill idle time and create opportunities for youth ages 5–16. We are also proud to have employed local young adults, Marcellus Wilford, Jarell Cherry, and Jovante Williams, to assist with our day-to-day operations.
A special thank-you to our meal sponsors—Tareall Cherry, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, La Cassetta of Scotland Neck, and Mobile Feast Catering, LLC (Ebony Bryant)—for helping ensure that no child left hungry.
And to the moms who went above and beyond to fill every gap and meet every need: we appreciate you more than you know. Shout out to our “Mom of the Year,” Beverly Smith, for helping with coordination, hydration, and participation. She was at every practice and game, often getting put to work the moment she parked her truck! Special thanks as well to Rhodesha (Pittman) Wilford, who made sure we had ice at every practice so our youth could stay safe and cool.
Congratulations to our “Co-Sponsors of the Year,” Janeen Daniels and Nancy Winslow, for showing up, cheering loudly, and supporting our youth with unmatched positive energy.

Congratulations to this year’s champions, the New Beginning Funeral Home Ravens, sponsored by John Smith! 🏆 Though the Ravens took home the championship, our entire community won the true prize: young people who were loved on, fed, encouraged, active, and given a place to belong.
