🥎 SCOTLAND NECK ADULT KICKBALL IS BACK THIS SUNDAY! 🥎

Last week's exhibition games were an absolute blast!

No, we didn't have the huge crowd we were hoping for—but we had enough players to field an 8-on-8 game, and the innings moved so fast we ended up playing TWO full games in about an hour.

Three observations from Opening Day:

🥇 1. Keosha Whitaker may be the most athletic woman in Scotland Neck (over the age of 40).

🗣️ 2. Martika McGuire is officially the greatest trash-talker in Scotland Neck Kickball history.

😎 3. You're going to regret it if you don't show up this Sunday.

Not currently on a team? No problem! Come anyway—we'll find you a team and get you in the game.

This is our FINAL week of exhibition games before we decide whether to launch a full league. If participation isn't there, we'll regroup and try again later in the year.

So come out, bring a friend, enjoy the music, grab some grilled food, laugh a little, and remind yourself what community fun is supposed to look like.

🏈 WHAT A DAY! 🏈

This past Saturday, the Scotland Neck Municipal Field was filled with energy, excitement, and young athletes ready to learn the game of football!

For the second year in a row, the Tipping Point Project hosted a
successful Flag Football Kickoff Camp, and we're excited to announce that more than 40 youth have already registered for this year's league. From stretching and skills stations to scrimmages and fellowship, it was a great day for our community.

But we're just getting started!

📍 Practice resumes TODAY (Tuesday, June 2) at 5:30 PM sharp at the Scotland Neck Municipal Field. We encourage all registered players to be present as we continue preparing for the season.

📝 Registration will remain open through Thursday. If you missed Opening Day, there's still time to sign up! Teams will be selected this week, and official league games will begin NEXT TUESDAY.

📣 Interested in coaching? We are still looking for volunteer coaches. Please report to the field TODAY at 5:00 PM if you'd like to help mentor and lead one of our youth teams.

The Tipping Point Project’s FREE Summer Flag Football League returns Saturday, May 30 at 12:00 PM at the Scotland Neck Municipal Field! 🏈

✅ Completely FREE
✅ “Cleats for Kids” initiative to help every child participate

✅ Adult co-ed kickball signup also begins at 12 PM

More importantly, I want to share why this matters.

Prior to last year, there was no organized recreation at all in the Town of Scotland Neck. With your support—and the help of local grants—we changed that.

During an 8-week stretch of youth sports programming:

There was not one single reported shooting involving teenagers

Local churches volunteered weekly to provide meals

The fire department came out and engaged with the players, even letting them cool off with the water hose and pool

We funded necessities like porta-john rentals to make the program possible

We employed 5–10 youth as coaches, referees, and leaders

At the same time, we identified real needs. Nearly 80% of players did not have proper cleats, increasing the risk of injury and limiting their ability to perform safely.

This year, our goal is to:

Increase participation by 25%

Ensure every player has proper footwear

Even if you’re not interested in March Madness, I encourage you to consider a donation. For perspective:

There will be no events at the Scotland Neck Municipal Field today.

The Board of Directors will be meeting in the coming days to finalize our plans for the Fall season and to wrap up the Youth Flag Football League.
