Joan Nicole Prince Home Dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, caring residence for terminally ill patients in need of a home during their final days.

Located in the Village of Scotia, The Joan Nicole Prince Home provides 24 hour bedside care for two residents at a time in a homelike environment. It is staffed primarily by volunteers and the care provided consists of laundry, meals, personal care, cleaning and support to our residents and their families. The home is named after Joan Nicole Prince, a Niskayuna, NY native and young mother of four. “Joanie” lost her battle with cancer and, in her honor, her husband gave a notable donation.

JOIN US FOR OUR VOLUNTEER & CAREGIVER TRAINING!

All community members, current volunteers, and prospective volunteers are welcome to attend our volunteer training with the Joan Nicole Prince Home!

WHEN: WEDNESDAY JUNE 17, 2026 10AM-2PM
WHERE: JNP HOME

During this training, you'll be introduced to the JNP Home, resident care, and end-of-life care.

This is a great way to get started volunteering at the JNP Home as a resident care volunteer OR to learn about end-of-life care, so you can better serve your own community!

- History & Mission of the JNP Home
- Volunteer opportunities & Responsibilities
- Psycho-social aspect of caregiving at the end of life
- Hands-on training for resident care
- Comfort Measures
- Medication Handling
- Policies & Procedures
