This past weekend, a group of residents planted approximately 10,000 seagrass stalks on Peggotty Beach in a project sponsored by Maria’s Subs, Funtastics of North Scituate, and our good friend Jobi Norton of Mullaney’s Fish Market. Thank you to the sponsors and all the residents who came out to help - one more example of why Scituate is such a great community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up at Town Meeting last night. Unfortunately, we did not secure the 2/3 vote needed to secure the Town Leadership’s commitment to this issue. But they did say they would make the project a priority - let’s all work together to ensure they do.

“We have passed the point at which the wall can be repaired. We lost that opportunity years and years ago,” Simmons said. “A Band-Aid approach isn’t going to work.” Read the latest in today's Patriot Ledger.

Some Scituate residents want the town to set aside $7 million to repair a section of crumbling sea wall on Lighthouse Road.

We are the weather, Scituate. And what we do to prepare is critical in mitigating potentially devastating impacts. Functioning Seawalls that protect our community, neighbors and first responders must be prioritized. Look at that skinny little neck! It is amazing to think about how many people use this road to visit our iconic Lighthouse year over year. If the seawall fails, this road could be irreparably damaged, leaving the Lighthouse inaccessible.

Another beautiful photo of our Harbor. Lighthouse Point Seawall sits on the thin strip of road at the top of the photo. If this already severely damaged wall fails, there will be no barrier protection for the Harbor and the homes and businesses within it.

Please join us on October 16 to vote to rebuild the wall that protects us all!
