The Schuylkill Haven Area High School's very own Hurricane Marching Band has taken fields by storm (pun intended) for decades. Caitlyn Biggs, the band is comprised of approximately 30 members from grades 7-12 of the Schuylkill Haven Area School District. The band plays at all Hurricane Football games in the stands and for pre game or halftime entertainment. Additionally, the Hurricane Marching Ban
d participated in various community events and parades throughout the year. The Hurricane Marching Band has competed in the National Judges Association's Tournament of Bands in Group 1 Class A competitions and recently Group 1 Festival Class. The band has qualified for numerous Atlantic Coast Championships and has earned Chapter 2 champion title in 2004, 2005, and 2008. In addition to its success as a group, many band members have gone on to march with DCI and DCA organizations, the TOB All Star Band, the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band, and well respected college marching band programs. The Hurricane Marching Band strives to provide quality entertainment while promoting music education and the arts all around the region.
