We'd like to thank all of people for coming to the Mental Health Awareness event yesterday evening. πŸ’š It was a beautiful day to release any negative energy and do a little self-affirmation. The family vibes were strong!

Thank you to Michelle Castillo for grilling hamburgers and hotdogs! We appreciate all the help!

Here are some helpful activities to exercise at home:

Practice the 3-3-3 rule: When feeling overwhelmed, identify three things you see, three sounds you hear, and move three body parts to ground yourself in the moment.

Journal: Spend 10 minutes writing down your thoughts to clear your mind and track emotional patterns.

Practice gratitude: Write down or reflect on 3 specific things you are grateful for each day to rewire your brain toward positivity.

The Empowering Community Alliance is proud to present the revised Bylaws adopted by the Alliance members and the Walker River Paiute Tribal Council to govern their operations, management, and structure. The Alliance has always had bylaws to help in its existence, and will continue to improve decision-making and remove outdated practices. Foundation is key!

We will be working on an Empowering Community Alliance website tab within the Walker River Paiute Tribe's official website for more information. Stay tuned!

πŸ“ŒπŸ’Šβž•οΈ The Empowering Community Alliance will be hosting an event for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Friday, April 24, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Walker River Tribal Health Clinic main entrance. This event is held each year to provide space for people to dispose of their old/unused medications safely to the Tribe's MedSafe receptacle. Please view the flyer for more information.

Now is a good time to clean out cabinets for spring cleaning and be an example of disposing of medications safely. We will also be handing out pamphlet information and cupcakes to everyone who participates on this day!

Feel free to contact Sara Twiss, Chair of the Empowering Community Alliance for any questions regarding this event.

We look forward to seeing you there!
