Thanks to Fayetteville ISD serving as the fiscal sponsor, Alliance for College & Career Student Success - ACCSS students gave the opportunity to complete Summer CTE internships. 40 students will be exploring career options for a minimum of 80 hours and receiving a $15/hour stipend. Part of this opportunity included a 2-day employability skills workshop. Speakers included ACCSS staff Susie Shank, Sarah Nickel, and Kelli New along with Frank Manzano with Jordan Ranch and Kristy Reaume-Nelson of Columbus Community Hospital which will be hosting over 1/2 if the interns! The kids really committed to the journey 😎 Congratulate them if you see them in your community learning while working.

We are looking for host sites in La Grange and Columbus for some young men interested in exploring careers in welding, construction and auto mechanics. They are rising juniors and seniors in high school. They need to work a minimum of 80 hours and will be paid by a Summer CTE grant. Each year we add new opportunities for our Alliance for College & Career Student Success - ACCSS students. This was a year long commitment and a tough test! Congrats to these Weimar Independent School District and Schulenburg ISD students for this accomplishment. We have a few more to test so 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for success and perseverance.

We are so proud of our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students!!! They committed to a full year. Three classes. Clinical hours at nursing homes. Studying and applying their hearts for caring for others. ALL 19 students passed their state written and clinical skills tests!!! If you see them or their administrators that allow them to be a part of the Alliance for College & Career Student Success - ACCSS please congratulate them! Also, a huge shout out to their lead teacher, Stacie Schramek, for being here daily at Blinn College in Schulenburg. Also, Cindy Machac Kalina, who assisted with skills labs and managed the clinical training at the nursing homes.

Camp is open to incoming 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are interested in learning more about careers in healthcare! Students will gain college readiness skills and experience healthcare careers through hands on learning experiences taught by Texas A&M College of Medicine.
