SALT Development’s current and future projects seek to build the local economy by promoting our amazing natural and cultural resources and building on our strong agricultural roots through dynamic, creative and collaborative projects. We believe in the power of creative place making. SALT continues to work in the area of preparedness. When disaster strikes, SALT is ready to serve and is built into

the County’s emergency plan. Meanwhile, SALT is preparing children and families through our Kits for Kids program. SALT is also working with regional partners to collect data, develop plans, seek funds and build local capacity so we can tackle our regions challenge with vacant and abandoned properties. SALT’s Trails to Tales of Schoharie County website will serve as an educational tool, to market local businesses and create opportunities for new businesses to develop and attract visitors. In response to plans developed in every community, SALT is committed to increasing recreational opportunities.

The last BBQ fundraisers for Ukraine sold out in less than two hours but here’s another chance to help support Ukraine and SALT’s community grant fund - and get a delicious dinner prepared by Barbecue Delights Catering! Every year, SALT awards grants to individuals, businesses, and non-profits from across Schoharie County. In the most recent round this past February, $6,000 was awarded! The winning projects included replacing the fire pit in Fox Creek Park, program improvements at The Community Library, kiosk repair at the George Landis Arboretum, and many more! We are also donating $2 from every dinner sold to assist the people of Ukraine!
