Regenerative Energy Initiative is a nonprofit advancing a regenerative energy future—advancing energy systems that renew, revitalize and regenerate environmental, economic and social systems. Formerly known as Sustainable Energy Fund until April 2026, we continue to provide energy programs, commercial loans, education and support across Pennsylvania while expanding our impact beyond efficiency and net zero. We work with communities, partners and leaders to enable action and build long-term resilience through energy.

Thank you for everyone who attended and shared our Net Zero Building Open House! 💚♻️
Last Wednesday, we welcomed the community for a day of building tours, energy education, electronics recycling and opportunities to get to know Regenerative Energy Initiative.
Today, on National E-Waste Day, we're sharing a look at the electronics collected during our Open House! Thank you to everyone who took the time to gather their unwanted electronics and bring them by.
We also want to thank everyone who visited, toured our building, learned about our programs and helped us celebrate this exciting chapter for Regen.
We hope to see you again soon!

How can historic buildings be part of our energy future?
Last night, a member of the Regenerative Energy Initiative team joined Green Building United for a tour of Lehigh University’s newly renovated Clayton University Center.
The building pairs 155 years of historic campus architecture with modern approaches to energy efficiency and building performance.
For Regen, the tour was an opportunity to see how existing buildings can evolve to use energy and resources more thoughtfully. Improving the performance of the buildings we already have is an important part of moving toward energy systems that renew, revitalize and regenerate our communities.
Thank you to Green Building United and Lehigh University for bringing the community together to learn.

Have old electronics collecting dust? Bring them to our Net Zero Open House on October 7!

We’ll be accepting electronics for recycling during two drop-off periods:
11 AM-1 PM
4-6 PM

Accepted items include computers and monitors, televisions, printers and scanners, phones and mobile devices, gaming systems, DVD/Blu-ray players, stereos, cables and more.

Please note that we cannot accept loose or damaged batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, Freon-containing appliances, large household appliances or household hazardous waste.

And don’t just drop off and leave! Stop inside to tour our Net Zero Building, explore our new educational displays and meet the Regenerative Energy Initiative team.

September is Workforce Development Month, and for us, workforce development means learning by doing.

Through Energypath Boot Camps, college students, educators and emerging energy professionals get hands-on experience with the technologies and systems shaping our energy future.

From solar PV to energy efficiency, Net Zero buildings, energy policy and bioenergy, Energypath gives participants opportunities to build practical knowledge, learn directly from industry professionals and explore pathways into the energy workforce.

That is workforce development in action: connecting education with real-world skills and helping prepare the next generation of energy professionals.

At Regenerative Energy Initiative, education is one of the ways we enable action and advance energy systems that renew, revitalize and regenerate.
