It’s been a busy weekend for our team!

Yesterday we were on standby for one missing person search and responded to a mutual aid request for another. This morning we held our membership meeting before K9 training.

From searches to training, our volunteers stay committed to being ready when needed.

Supporting our team doesn’t always mean making a donation or volunteering.

One of the biggest ways you can help is by assisting us in finding new training locations. Our K9 teams train up to three times each week, and it’s important that our dogs are exposed to a variety of terrains, environments, and challenges to prepare them for real-world searches.

We are always looking for properties that are at least 20 acres in size and include wooded areas. If you own property, know someone who does, or have a connection to a location that may be suitable for training, we would love to hear from you.

Every new training location gives our K9 teams valuable opportunities. We are fully insured and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) upon request. We appreciate your support in helping us keep our teams training and ready. 🐾

Great night of K9 training! 🐾

Tonight we welcomed a special guest K9 team from Berks County Search and Rescue Station 2,
worked with several of our own K9 teams, and introduced a newcomer to the world of Search and Rescue K9s.

A huge thank you to Amber, our Air Scent K9 Lieutenant, for planning and coordinating an excellent training that challenged both handlers and dogs while providing valuable learning opportunities for everyone involved.

Last evening, our team spent the night training under the stars! 🌙🔦

Ground teams, K9 teams, and our drone team worked through a variety of scenarios, including a trail that ended with a kayaker crossing the water, a vehicle pickup, air scent search areas, and grid searching for clues. One exercise led to calling in the K9 team to find the “missing subject” outside of the grid search area.

To top it off, some team members pitched their tents and camped overnight. A great night of training and teamwork and a fun way to welcome our newest recruits! 😁

A huge thank you to Perkiomen Animal Hospital for the generous donation of a backpack filled with K9 first aid supplies!

Our very own K9 in training, Skye, recently visited for her annual checkup and we were incredibly grateful to receive this thoughtful gift. Having quality first aid supplies readily available helps us keep our K9 partners safe while they train and work in the field.

We truly appreciate your support of our team and our four-legged search partners.

Thanks to strong teamwork a missing young boy was located safe tonight. These are the moments that remind us why we volunteer our time and put in countless hours of training.
Thank you to all responding agencies and team members who worked together tonight. Safe outcomes are always the goal and we’re grateful to have been a part of bringing someone home safely.

Today at approximately 1930 hrs, Station 24 was dispatched by police to assist in searching for a missing person. This past weekend our K9 teams held a classroom training focused on proper documentation, log books, and individual assessments to help keep our handlers and K9s deployment-ready.

Tonight, three of them were right back out on the training field: K9 Lupita, and K9s in training, Coal & Natsu.

Our trailing dogs also worked on aged trails as part of their continued training, but unfortunately are not pictured. We are proud of the dedication our handlers and K9s continue to show both in the classroom and in the field!

Some photos from the North Catasauqua Community Day this evening! We had a great time meeting members of the community, sharing what we do, and connecting with so many great people.

We’re also excited to say we added some new recruits to our team! Stay tuned in the future as we introduce some new K9s in training. 🐾
