Toby's Shower for Babies

Toby's Shower for Babies Toby Tolin survived even though the odds and doctors said he wouldn't. Now he and his family are helping other families who go through the NICU!

On January 14th it was discovered that baby Toby was severely growth restricted due to unknown causes. The medical capability in Vienna (while we lived in rural Hungary) was not able to tend to him and it was recommended we return to the United States for the best medical care. Fast forward to April 5th, Toby made his entrance into the world at 11:36pm weighing 2lb 13oz measuring 14 3/4 inches lon

g. Almost 6 weeks after his birth, Toby came home from the NICU. Mom, Elizabeth noticed that families in the NICU had special needs and set to work to fill them. Now what exists is the non profit organization Team Toby Tolin and the Toby's Shower for Babies project. This is our team page for social media- also check out our website at http://showerforbabies.org !

Our coordinator has been working her tail off before her move to keep things streamlined for the families we service. Thankfully the staff will be able to continue to pick up finished baskets throughout the next weeks and months; as well as put together baskets once needed. She also has material in our storage unit ready to be tied if you’re wanting to continue to volunteer throughout these next few months. If you have finished blankets that need dropped we can coordinate that as well. We are still looking for a Colorado coordinator who can take over her duties and she has made the processs for whomever in the future, as easy as possible. Please reach out if you’re interested and she will be back throughout the year to help guide you. ❤️

Hi folks,

It’s with sadness and excitement to announce that our Colorado coordinator Kaydee, who has been making sure that we are providing our baskets to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, is moving out of state! We are so sad to lose her but happy for her and her family as they embark on a new adventure. We are looking for a new Colorado lead who can continue to provide our services, and Kaydee will work alongside with you, to help train you to be able to continue our work. If you’re interested please send us a message ❤️

Can you believe next year, will be 10 years that we have been serving families ! Its hard to believe and we are so happy that we have been able to continue the work we do. It’s been awhile since we have a gala and I think 10 year anniversary is the perfect reason to throw a fundraising event! We will have a silent auction to help us raise funds so we can continue serving families in the NICU! Do you own a business that could sponsor an item or table? Do you have a service you provide that we could auction off? We will be collecting items and experiences to auction off. Let us know if you have something we can auction off. You can also ask those you know that might be able to provide an auction item. Let’s make this an incredibly fun and successful gala so we can raise as much funds as possible! ❤️

We were grateful to be invited to speak and have some wonderful ladies tie some blankets. They also donated some books and stuffies for our baskets. If you ever want our Colorado care coordinator come speak at an event and have a service project to do. Please reach out ! She would love to share her story and about the impact of Tobys for the families who find themselves in the NICU! ❤️

We want to give a huge shoutout and a THANK YOU, to Matt Nawrocki, as well as Vectors, Inc. for such a generous donation. We cannot do what we do here at Toby’s without the generosity of others. Their donation will help us drop baskets tonight at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children so no Mother will go without during Mothers Day. As many you know, having your first Mother’s Day in the NICU is an incredibly difficult place to be. Thank you again from the bottom our hearts, we are so very grateful !

We know it’s been awhile since we have posted on this platform and decided it was time to change that! Our Colorado Care coordinator has been busy dropping off baskets these past few years. Even dropped some off the day she welcomed her new daughter to this world, Emilia Keely 🎉🎊🍾! She had another NICU stay , which just further reminded us why we do what we do ! These baskets provide a comfort, a celebratory moment, and some life to a room that envokes a lot of of feelings. We are here to provide support for families navigating the NICU , and are grateful for all the support we receive to continue our work ! Thank you !

Our Colorado Coordinator and her husband packed their car as full as they could with baskets to bring to their delivery. We have a passion for what we do and we truly know how it feels to be in the NICU. We are here to support you and bring you joy on your child’s birthday! They delivered a healthy baby girl, had a visit to the NICU, and are home now. If what we do speaks to you then please consider donating to our cause. If you received a basket, we would love to hear from you 💕

Our Colorado coordinator just recently did a drop at Rocky Mountain, and as you can see she is expecting a baby girl to be joining her family! With that, she will be needing help assembling baskets, and delivering them in the near future. She does have a possibility of hospitalization during her 3rd trimester and will not be able to be assembling or delivering baskets if that occurs or once their daughter is born, as she will be healing! If you are in Colorado and would be willing to help out during these upcoming months so that we can continue to deliver our baskets to the NICU, please leave a comment below ! Kaydee resides in southeast Aurora next to Southlands Mall, so you would need to be able to come to her. Lastly, if you have blankets still that you were tying, please let us know so we can coordinate getting our material back please. Thank you!
