Chicago Paranormal Research is committed to the scientific research method of proving or disproving that there is supernatural or paranormal phenomena existing in certain areas and places of our world. If we do an investigation and find anything that could be considered evidence of a haunting or paranormal activity, we will advise you of what steps to take to deal with your particular situation.

Some unusual phenomena or hauntings are nothing to be too concerned about, most ghosts or spirits mean no harm. There are some cases that can be explained by some natural and or normal event that just appears to be of the supernatural. Some hauntings, on the other hand, are not pleasant, and you will want to claim your home back. Sometimes they can be downright scary, however some (very few), can be dangerous, especially if it is a non-human entity, and if children are involved.

I had something happen paranormal in my own home the night before we moved out. The house never had any type of activity before this, and we had lived in that house for almost 25 years, so this was really quite a surprise to me. I was sitting in a recliner in the living room next to the kitchen and my wife was on the other side of the room on the couch by the window. My wife (Kathy) had previously hung a chain with a religious medal on it that had belonged to her late father on one of the kitchen cabinet handles to be sure she would not forget it when we were loading the truck the next morning. We were both watching TV around ten o'clock when the chain with the St. Peregrine medal began to swing wildly back and forth on the kitchen cabinet handle. I could hardly believe what I was seeing, I watched in astonishment and disbelief for awhile while seated, I then jumped up from my chair and hurried over to get closer, and it was moving about six to seven inches one way and then the other. I did not touch it and soon it began to slow down and then it stopped completely. There was no wind of any kind, the windows were all closed in the middle of winter (December 29th) and no heater duct nearby, besides, it would have taken a hair dryer on high right next to the chain/medal to move it as much as it was moving. There was no way of debunking it! Why do you think after living there for almost 25 years that this would happen on the night before we moved out of Illinois to our new home in Indiana. Please comment if you have an idea of why this happened. I have a reason that I think it happened but I will hold off revealing it until I hear a few ideas from you!

We have an investigation coming up soon at an Oak Forest home that has been having more activity.......we have been there before, and it has been very active...especially with EVPs and EMF. Hoping for something on video!!
