Voting is a terrific activity for the whole family--and friends!

This week we recognize National Voter Education Week!

Have you talked about the 2026 Midterms with your loved ones? Once you have your plan to vote, make sure your friends and family have a plan too. It is important that we are having political conversations with our loved ones to make sure everyone is well informed. Civic participation does not start and end with one person, we have to make sure our communities are prepared for the upcoming election as well. Have those important conversations and bring a friend to the polls when you go vote.

A great forum at HVCC last night for candidates for Assembly District 108. Linda Allen, LWV of Rensselaer County, coordinated the event, and Cheryl Nechamen, LWV of Schenectady County,* was the moderator. Thanks to the candidates, everyone who attended and everyone who helped. *Did you know? League moderators cannot be from the same district as the candidates. That's why Cheryl was asked to step in. It's one more safeguard the League put in place to ensure that there is no bias at our forums.
