Voting should be accessible to everyone. Mail-in voting helps ensure that seniors, military members, voters with disabilities, and rural residents can make their voices heard safely and securely.

To help avoid potential USPS processing delays, voters can return their mail ballot in person. Secure options include delivering it directly to your county Board of Elections or placing it in a secure ballot drop box at a polling site in your county.

Don’t wait until the last minute. Make a plan now for how you’ll return your ballot and ensure your vote is counted.

Ways to vent: scream into a pillow, extra sweaty exercise. Way to make change: VOTE!

Sometimes we need to vent about the terrible things happening around us. However, venting is never enough. To bring about change, we must vote for it. This will turn our frustration into empowerment!

Re: Trump’s Executive Order suppressing mail-in voting…all that happened yesterday was that SCOTUS said that the courts that have stopped the EO decided too soon. The Roberts court expressly said “we are not ruling on whether this is legal or not.” They didn’t even get to the merits of the rule. They said that this is because there is no final rule yet —what they’d be ruling on was too amorphous.

The same thing happened with birthright citizenship, where the case went to SCOTUS once and lost on similar grounds, refiled, came back, and won. A new complaint is being filed today about the rule because it is now final.

Under the Constitution the president has almost no authority to regulate elections. That power goes to Congress and the states. The Executive branch can’t, in short, make rules tying delivery of mail-in ballots to whether states are cooperating with a conspiracy theory.

The courts will now rule on whether Trump has the constitutional authority to make this rule.

Voting by mail is safe and fair. Ballots are going in the mail in a couple of weeks. The biggest thing we need to be worried about is this suppressing the vote.

We’re fine. We’re going to vote. If you need to vote by mail vote by mail. Don’t let them scare you into not voting. The system is intact. Local officials are conducting the elections the way they always have. Check your voter registration, get ready to vote.
