Our Dining Center is looking especially colorful lately! 🌻💐

Last week, we shared some of the beautiful flowers grown right here at City Mission. This week, we have even more beauty to share thanks to the generosity of Felthousen's Florist, who donated fresh flowers for those we serve!

Their flowers have been combined with blooms from our own Greenhouse and arranged into colorful bouquets throughout the Dining Center.

We love that something as simple as fresh flowers can add warmth and joy to the space where hundreds of meals are shared each week. We’re so grateful to Felthousen’s for thinking of City Mission and helping us create a welcoming place filled with care, dignity and hope. ❤️

What an incredible way to celebrate six weeks of learning, growing and fun! 🎒❤️

This summer, Let’s Play Summer Camp welcomed more than 60 children for six weeks filled with opportunities to grow in their confidence, faith and friendships. Campers spent their days learning, creating, playing and building relationships, with special field trips each week to places like the movies, bowling alley and roller skating rink.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to attend their end-of-camp program, and we were blown away! From performances to choir and more, the children proudly shared their talents and so much of what they learned throughout the summer.

And they’re heading into the school year ready! Each camper received a backpack filled with school supplies, another special gift made possible through the generosity of friends like you. 🎒✏️📚

We are so grateful for the partnerships that make Let’s Play Summer Camp possible. Liberty Church generously opens its doors and provides the space for camp each summer, while My Daughters And Me MDAM My Sons and Me MSAM INC brings it all to life by organizing and running the camp each day.

To every friend and partner who helped provide backpacks, school supplies, field trips and six weeks of meaningful experiences for these children: thank you. Your generosity helped make this a summer filled with learning, laughter, friendship and faith! ❤️

🌸 These beautiful flowers were grown right here on City Mission’s campus and in our Greenhouse, then gathered into small arrangements to brighten our Dining Center.

It’s a simple touch, but a meaningful one. Because of your generosity, those who come to the Dining Center receive more than a nourishing meal. They’re welcomed into a space filled with care, dignity and a glimpse of the beauty found in God’s creation.

From the meals we serve to the spaces where we welcome others, thank you for helping make moments like these possible. 💛

From greenhouse to harvest! 🧄🌱

This year's garlic harvest is in, and we're thankful for everyone who made it possible. Thanks to the generosity of our friends and supporters, City Mission residents had the opportunity to plant, care for, and harvest this crop together alongside staff.

Every harvest represents more than fresh food—it reflects the value of meaningful work, new skills, and the opportunity to grow. Thank you for helping make moments like this possible.

This July, we celebrated 10 graduates of our Bridges to Freedom Life Skills & Discipleship Program! 🎉

We are so proud of each of these men and all they have accomplished. As they begin this next chapter, we pray God's continued guidance and blessing over their lives.

Putting on a brand-new t-shirt or a clean pair of underwear may seem like a small thing, but for someone experiencing homelessness, it can mean so much more. ❤️

Last week, our friends at Broadview Federal Credit Union stopped by with an incredible donation of 31 boxes and large bags filled with essential items, including soap, underwear, t-shirts, socks, and more.

These everyday necessities provide comfort, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares. Every item shared is an opportunity to extend hope to a neighbor in need.

Thank you, Broadview, for your generosity and for helping make hope tangible for the men, women, and children we serve. 💙

🥬💚 We’re grateful to our friends at Faith Baptist Church for recently presenting City Mission with a Certificate of Appreciation!

Through our partnership, 100+ bags of fresh lettuce each week help stock Faith Baptist’s food pantry, providing fresh, nutritious food to individuals and families in our community. Their certificate included the verse, “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18. What a beautiful reflection of the way they faithfully serve others.

As we welcome summer, we know the back-to-school season will be here before we know it. ☀️📚
