🍁 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

This autumn, the men, women, and children we serve together had the opportunity to gather in celebration during the annual Fall Festival. Thanks to the faithful kindness & support of friends like YOU, moments of joy become possible & memories like these are able to be shared! 🍁🍂

🎃 A HUGE THANK YOU to J-C Farm Stand for the generous donation of pumpkins, which were painted and enjoyed during this festive time of fellowship!

It is a blessing to be part of a community filled with such kindness, generosity, and compassion. Thank you for sharing help for today and hope for tomorrow! 🩵💛

♥️ Did you know your generosity helps share more than hometown hospitality with patrons and visitors of the city?

Through the Downtown Ambassador Program, the men and women we serve together have the opportunity to gain valuable job skills, build confidence, and prepare to re-enter the workforce, all while giving back to the community that continues to support and encourage them.

Beyond welcoming visitors downtown, Ambassadors also have the opportunity to serve neighbors experiencing hardship through the Ambassador Street Assistance Program (ASAP). With the help of the ASAP van, Ambassadors can connect individuals with essential items, resources, and assistance throughout the community.

💛 A special thank you to Deb & Rich from the Scotia-Glenville Elks for their thoughtful donation of items for the ASAP van! Your kindness and generosity are a wonderful reflection of neighbors caring for neighbors, and help extend opportunities for care and compassion beyond the doors of the Mission.

🩵 Thanks to the continued support of friends like YOU, the Downtown Ambassador Program offers opportunities for personal growth, meaningful work experience, and community connection.

Thank you for sharing help for today & hope for tomorrow with the men, women, and children served together, and for being part of the hometown hospitality that makes Schenectady so special!

🙏 “I want to thank God for always allowing me another chance to restore my life, and City Mission and everybody that surrounds this place for all the support and encouragement, and for sitting with me while I continue to grow and flourish into the person God wants me to be. I can’t thank you enough. I love all of you. Thank you!”

— Someone You've Helped

🩵 Each week, those we serve together gather in Cornerstone Chapel to share their Friday in faithful fellowship. Through the generosity and compassion of friends like you, words of worship, praise, and thanksgiving are able to be shared in a space where help for today and hope for tomorrow have the opportunity to flourish.

💛 Your kindness, compassion, and faithful support help bring men, women, and children in our community together for moments like these that reflect the love and encouragement you share each day. Thank you!

👕 Thanks to the generosity & compassion of friends like you, the opportunity to access essential items is a possibility for individuals throughout the community. When men, women, and children are able to come in for a Clothing Room appointment, your support helps them access more than clothes or shoes. It offers them the opportunity to choose their own items in a warm, welcoming space where help for today and hope for tomorrow are shared with care. 🩵

Currently, the Clothing Room is looking for men’s underwear in sizes medium & large, men’s pants, and winter gear such as coats, hats, and gloves. For more information on current needs & how to get involved, visit: https://citymission.com/waystogive/

💛 Each item shared with the Clothing Room helps make it possible to restock shelves with everyday essentials for the neighbors we serve together. Thank you!

A pair of sneakers that fits. Fresh socks. Clothes that feel comfortable. These everyday essentials can help a child walk into school feeling more confident and ready for the day. 👟

Thank you to everyone who donated clothing, footwear and school supplies to help local children! This week, Charles Amodio and our friends at SAX and their Networking Meeting Point Group delivered bags of new sneakers, socks and underwear, along with gently used footwear, through SAX’s Third Annual Shoe Drive. Each item will be provided free of charge to a child in need.

With your help, City Mission now supports students in 18 Schenectady schools. Thank you for helping children feel cared for, encouraged and ready to learn! 💛

Our Weekend Backpack Program is back for another school year with the help of our faithful volunteers! 🎒💛

Today kicked off the first week of packing at our Distribution Center. Every week that school is in session, volunteers will pack backpacks filled with food for around 100 children in local schools, helping ensure they have food to take home for the weekend.

We’re so thankful for the volunteers who faithfully give their time each week to care for children in our community and help meet a very practical need. Their service makes this program possible all school year long!

A beautiful day, a great round of golf, and a whole lot of support for City Mission! ⛳☀️

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Mohawk Golf Club for our 13th Annual Golf with a Mission tournament. We loved seeing everyone out on the course, and your generosity will make a lasting difference at City Mission.

A big shoutout to our presenting sponsor, P1 Industries , and our partner, Northway Golf Center, for helping make the day possible. And to every golfer who came out to play: thank you for making it such a fun and successful day! 💛
