Roots & Wisdom runs an annual summer program for high school youth, lasting 6 - 9 weeks.

Roots & Wisdom is a program of Cornell Cooperative Extension, Schenectady County, whose mission is to educate and empower Schenectady County youth through an agricultural lens. Roots & Wisdom's mission is to educate a diverse group of residents - particularly youth - from Schenectady County about organic agriculture, sustainability, healthy nutrition, job readiness, the importance of community involvement and more. Youth participants from both urban and suburban backgrounds work together in our garden located in Central Park. They are mentored by crew leaders and together, the group becomes a family as they grow, harvest, sell and donate vegetables to the local community together. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram () to get the latest on our program, including when Harvest Share sign-ups begin and when we open our weekly Farm Stand!!
