Incredibly sad news! Albany community please consider donating period products to Food not Bombs of Albany, New York if you are able!

Sad news- the Free Period Pantry that we had put out for the community with the Albany Social Justice Center was stolen after only one day of being out :( We're super bummed- a lot of love, time and resources were put into this pantry already.

Free and accessible menstrual products are needed in our community! The MoonCatcher Project is doing amazing work on this front and we're going to figure out a way to make this work in our neighborhood.

And of course we'll continue to offer free menstrual products at our weekly community distributions & meals whenever we have them in stock!

If you would like to donate much needed menstrual products, please drop them off at the Albany Social Justice Center (33 Central Ave, Albany NY) any Monday 3:30pm-6:30pm or Tuesday 2pm-5pm, or Venmo us at Albany-FNB

Let's fight period poverty together! 🩸

Hello everyone, we have some exciting news!

With much heartfelt gratitude, we are announcing the transition of all period pantry operations from Capital Region Menstrual Health (CRMH) to The MoonCatcher Project . As our NYS public health fellowship term concludes, we're thrilled to pass the torch to The MoonCatcher Project. Their mission perfectly aligns with ours, with both of us working to make menstrual products more accessible for those who need them. Based in Schenectady, The MoonCatcher Project has accomplished remarkable work locally and internationally!

Since our inception in the summer of 2022 we have been able to distribute almost 200,000 menstrual products to the community, provide education to youth and adults, and help fight the stigma surrounding menstruation! None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support from our incredible Capital Region community. We are deeply grateful for every donation received, story shared, and connection made during this process ❤️

Stay tuned for more information about The MoonCatcher Project, and what’s next for Capital Region Menstrual Health 😊

Thank you so much to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church for choosing us as their winter session partner for Opa-cize! They raised $1,500 for us this spring! There are no words to describe how much their support means to us. ❤️ We’ve had the most wonderful time meeting all the wonderful people who run and attend these sessions, and can’t wait to provide more period products in the region through this funding. ❤️

Ava is an amazing local Junior Girl Scout who attended our Period Party in February, who has been working to fight period poverty in our community!
She has been creating and distributing period kits to menstruators in need at her school, and has even written a letter to her senator about Article 2, Title G, Section 267 which mandates the provision of menstrual products free of charge in school bathrooms. Keep working hard Ava, you are an inspiration to us all!!! ❤️🩸

Make sure to follow Ava 😊

Reflecting on a night of eliminating stigma and spreading knowledge about menstrual health at our Schenectady Period Party this past Monday! We gave period product demonstrations along with a presentation that discussed a variety of topics such as the menstrual cycle, PMS, stigma, and period poverty. 🩸

Participants were then able to decorate their own period kits and fill them with a variety of products including pads, tampons, menstrual cups, and period underwear to take home. Many thanks to Glenville Branch Library for partnering with us for such a wonderful event! Let’s keep the conversation going and continue to empower our youth! 😊❤️
