Sex & Gender Health Collaborative

Sex & Gender Health Collaborative We are an initiative of the American Medical Women's Association.

The S*x and Gender Health Collaborative (SGHC) fosters medical research, education, and clinical practice based on knowledge of s*x (biological) and gender (psychosocial) differences. Each of us, without exception, has a genetic s*x (XX,XY) that is influenced by gender roles and the world around us. To fully meet women’s health care needs, we need to broaden our approach to clinical care from a f

ocus on reproductive concerns to a perspective that considers both biological (s*x) and psychosocial (gender) factors, and the interaction between the two. The SGWHC goal is to develop s*x and gender competency in all medical institutions and across all health professions by providing readily accessible s*x and gender specific curricular materials and educational resources. The ultimate goal is to facilitate their adaptation and adoption into medical curricula and training.
