Toa Tumaini Foundation

Toa Tumaini Foundation Toa Tumaini Foundation (meaning "To Give Hope") partners with local Tanzanians to provide quality education to children in TZ. Toa Tumaini Foundation, Inc.

Toa Tumaini Foundation was created in partnership with a local organization, Project Hope School. Together we strive to better the lives of street children and orphans, and those at risk of becoming street children and orphans in the village of Kariwa, Tanzania and nearby villages. We provide funding, resources, advocacy, and support to local community members in order to assist in the development

and growth of their projects. Project Hope School assists vulnerable children in the rural village of Kariwa who are at risk of becoming street children or have lived/worked on the street in the past. Its members are also working tirelessly to open a center for children who are currently living on the street. and Project Hope envision an environment in which children can live and spend time that provides them with hope, encouragement and opportunities, empowering them to lead the lives they dream of as well as seeing that they live up to their potential. We are deeply invested in the lives of some of Tanzania's most vulnerable children. Partner Organization:

When we ask our students what they love most, one answer comes up again and again:
“I love school!”

And that means everything.

Because when children feel safe, welcomed, supported, and cared for at school, they’re able to truly learn, grow, dream, and discover who they can become.

A nurturing environment doesn’t just shape education — it shapes confidence, hope, and opportunity for the future.

We used to worry that the challenges our students face were too big to make a meaningful difference.

But everything has changed.

Because we’ve seen firsthand how access to education, nutrition, and emotional support can completely change a student’s confidence and future, especially when a community comes together to help.

Growth in this work doesn’t always happen overnight.
Sometimes it looks like one student returning to school.
One meal provided.
One child realizing they’re supported and not alone.

And those small moments matter more than people realize.

We dare you to do one bold thing this week:

Choose to make an impact on someone you may never meet.

At Toa Tumaini Foundation, we see every day how access to education, meals, and support can change the trajectory of a student’s life in Tanzania.

Bold doesn’t always mean big; sometimes it looks like:
• Giving what you can.
• Sharing a mission you believe in.
• Choosing to be part of something bigger than yourself.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to make a difference, this is it.

Your support helps students keep learning, growing, and believing in their future.

Potential exists everywhere; it just needs support to grow. Our student spotlight is the perfect example of this in action.

This month's student, S, is one of our preschool students. 5-year-old A is a student in our middle-level class and has a smile that steals hearts.

Here are some other fun things about him:

❤️ Lives with: His Parents
➗ Favorite Subject: Math
🥔 Favorite Food: Chips
🐘 Favorite Animal: Elephant
💙 Favorite Color: Blue
👮🏾‍♂️ When I grow up, I want to be a: Police Officer

Do we have any friends out there who also love the color blue? Any police officers? Let us know in the comments!

You don’t need more money to make a difference—you just need to know this:

Most of the time, what truly changes lives isn’t one massive gift.
It’s people choosing to give what they can, consistently and wholeheartedly.

💙 Every dollar counts.
💙 Every act of generosity matters.
💙 Every contribution becomes part of something bigger.

If you’ve been waiting until you “have more,” consider this your reminder: meaningful impact often begins with simply starting where you are.

Give what you can—and watch what shifts🌱

Tune in for your monthly Swahili lesson:

We hope you love learning a little bit of Swahili each month just as much as we love sharing it.

Lately, we've been reflecting on how much our community has come together to care for kids in Tanzania.

From our local Tanzanian leaders, parents, teachers, and community members to our friends and supporters all over the world. Together, we're improving access to education and helping kids in Tanzania dream about their futures.

That's why this month's word is: together.

English: Together
Swahili: Pamoja

Special thanks to these sweet preschool students for helping us with translation this month.

What word(s) do you want to learn next? Let us know in the comments!

If our business had a superpower, it would be making dreams come true.

Because at the end of the day, what we really do is lead students to reach for their real dreams.

Honestly though? The real superheroes are our Tanzanian community. They show up with heart, determination, and love day in and day out. Their dreams and determination propel them forward in the midst of hardship. We're honored to know and walk alongside them.

A classroom can change more than a student’s future—it can change how they see themselves.

A child’s ability to learn is deeply connected to how supported, safe, and cared for they feel emotionally, physically, and academically.

One thing we’ve seen through our work in Tanzania is this: when students have access to education, nourishing meals, and a supportive school environment, their confidence and overall well-being grow, too.

Sometimes the most meaningful support looks simple:
✨ A classroom where they belong
✨ Meals they can rely on
✨ Adults who believe in their future

Small shifts add up—in education and in life.

If you’re passionate about supporting the whole child, you’re not alone. Visit our website to learn how you can get involved. 💙

We’ve worked with more than 100 students—and here’s what we see again and again…

→ A genuine desire to learn
→ Unique interests and strengths
→ A willingness to work hard
→ And a deep desire to dream about their future

Once you meet them, it’s impossible to look away.

That’s why we’re committed to expanding access to education—because every child deserves the opportunity to grow, thrive, and dream bigger💫
